Football Ends Season with Road Win over NorseNovember 11, 2023The University of Dubuque football finished it's 2023 season with a dominating road victory over the Luther College Norse on Saturday by a 42-10 margin. The Spartans finished with 543 yards of offense with 380 yards of passing in the final game for UD. The Spartans held possession advantage of 35:12 over Luther's 24:48. The Spartans never punted in the win.

The past five meetings entering Saturday's contest against the Coe College Kohawks were all decided by a touchdown or less. UD Football Dominates First Quarter in 45-21 Road Victory Over StormOctober 28, 2023The University of Dubuque football team opened up for 21 points in the first quarter on Saturday afternoon to improve to 4-2 in the American Rivers Conference with a 45-21 road victory. The chilly fall conditions didn't slow the Spartans as they scored in all, but the third quarter and compiled 587 yards on the day.

Football Blanks Beavers on Homecoming 41-0October 21, 2023The University of Dubuque football team hosted the Buena Vista University Beavers in one of their largest home crowds of the season during Saturday's Spartans 2023 homecoming. UD dominated the visiting Beavers in a 41-0 route against strong westerly winds.

In a hostile environment during the Knights homecoming, UD's defense held the hosts in check until a late score put Wartburg on the scoreboard in under two minutes in the first half.

University of Dubuque Football Wins Key City Clash for 12th Consecutive YearSeptember 23, 2023Saturday's Key City Clash began like every match-up, two squads wanting the traveling trophy or "Key" to display at their institution for the rest of the year. UD held a slim 7-3 halftime lead, but broke the game open on four touchdowns of 36 yards or more all in second half to claim the 2023 Key City Clash 35-23 on Chalmers Field.

Overtime Thiller in Key City Clash, UD Spartans Win 27-20November 05, 2022The Key City Clash once again lived up to it's hype. The last five contests have been decided by less than one score, the 2022 edition was no different. Both teams ended in regulation all knotted at 20-20. UD received the ball in overtime and scored on a fade in the left side to Wade Sheets, to take the overtime advantage 27-20. The Duhawks responded with a first down and would end the game on four straight passes to the left corner of the end zone, all broken up by the Spartans defenders.

University of Dubuque Spartans Claim 10th Consecutive Key City Clash Over DuhawksNovember 13, 2021The University of Dubuque football team coming off a three game skid, rallied back on Saturday to win on an 18-yard field goals with five seconds remaining to beat the Loras College Duhawks 17-14. The victory marked the 10th consecutive victory over the Duhawks in the annual Key City Clash. The Spartans never held a lead until the field goal to win the contest.

UD Spartans Rally Falls Short Against the KohawksOctober 30, 2021The University of Dubuque football team turned the ball over early in Saturday's game and would trail 0-20 in the opening quarter of action to the Coe College Kohawks. The Spartans chipped away at the lead, scoring their first touchdown on a three yard scamper from quarterback Jacob Keller with 5:33 left of the half. UD missed their extra point and halftime score would be in favor of the Kohawks 20-6. The Spartans rallied back scoring 21 points in the second half, but the comeback ended with a desperation interception late in the game with the Kohawks collecting the narrow 34-27 victory on Chalmers Field.

UD Spartans Offense Stifled by Knights Defense in First A-R-C LossOctober 23, 2021The University of Dubuque football team found the host Wartburg College Knights a tough match-up on Saturday. UD would lose their first league of the season by a 7-27 final score. A defensive battle with the two teams keeping each below 178 total yards in the game. UD led through the air with 144 yards passing while the Knights gained just 72. The Knights led the ground attack with 106 yards of rushing and the staunch Knight defense held UD to -20 yards rushing.
