The Spartans fumbled twice and had three passes intercepted, but rallied on defense including a blocked punt for a touchdown to keep the game in sight through four quarters.
The University of Dubuque football team cruised in front of the largest crowd of the season during homecoming in a 64-7 romp of the Luther College Norse. The Spartans jumped out to a 41-0 halftime lead and never looked back. Freshman Joey Rhomberg tossed six first half touchdowns and completed 27-32 pass attempts for 316 yards.

The Key City Clash once again lived up to it's hype. The last five contests have been decided by less than one score, the 2022 edition was no different. Both teams ended in regulation all knotted at 20-20. UD received the ball in overtime and scored on a fade in the left side to Wade Sheets, to take the overtime advantage 27-20. The Duhawks responded with a first down and would end the game on four straight passes to the left corner of the end zone, all broken up by the Spartans defenders.
The University of Dubuque football team coming off a three game skid, rallied back on Saturday to win on an 18-yard field goals with five seconds remaining to beat the Loras College Duhawks 17-14. The victory marked the 10th consecutive victory over the Duhawks in the annual Key City Clash. The Spartans never held a lead until the field goal to win the contest.

The Spartans rallied back scoring 21 points in the second half, but the comeback ended with a desperation interception late in the game with the Kohawks collecting the narrow 34-27 victory on Chalmers Field.
