Buckner got the hat trick with his third rushing touchdown on the afternoon. He bounced off defenders en route to a 35 yard touchdown scamper to put the game away with 10:49 remaining in the game. It was a one play drive which took just nine seconds off the clock.
The Prairiewolves scored the final points at 5:17 off a 27 yard touchdown pass to slice the Spartan lead to 31-14 as time expired.
Geeslin and Buckner led the ground game with 121 yards and 118 yards combining for four TD's. Elliott Pipkin was the lone Spartan over 100 yards in receiving with four catches for 107 yards.
Jordan Boatright led the defense with six tackles as Colton Pedersen and Adam Steingraeber grabbed five tackles. The Spartans D held NWU to 239 yards of total offense and just eight yards rushing. Tyler Geiman and Casey Larson would both end the afternoon with interceptions for UD.
