Offense

QB Devin Hayes, Jr., Centre

Devin Hayes shattered a pair of school records, tallying 527 passing yards and seven passing touchdowns to help Centre to a convincing 66-28 Southern Athletic Association victory over Rhodes on Saturday at Crain Field. All told, Hayes finished with eight total touchdowns as he added a rushing score in the fourth quarter. He matched a career-high with 32 completions on 42 attempts. His completion percentage of 76.2 percent represents a career high, as well. 

OL Tyler Maxsim, Bradley Straight, Jason Barish, Andrew DeMaio, Brett Poling, Joe Pellegrino, Moravian

The Greyhounds posted their second 600-yard game of the season with 667 yards on 90 plays in a 42-30 win at Juniata. Moravian had senior quarterback Mike Hayes throw for a school-record 516 yards while senior running back Chris Negron had his 20th career 100-yard game with 129 yards. DeMaio made his first career start due to illness but left before halftime with an injury, bringing Brett Poling into the game for the remainder of the contest.

RB Markeith Miller
So., UMHB

Miller posted the third-best single-game rushing total in Cru history. He finished with 235 yards and three touchdowns on just 19 carries. Markeith averaged 12.4 yards per carry.

RB Dayton Winn
Sr., Hendrix

Winn rushed for 264 yards and four touchdowns in a 49-46 loss at Wash U. Winn carried the ball 40 times and averaged 6.6 yards per carry. Winn also caught six passes for 49 yards.

WR Brandon Shed
Jr., Hobart

Shed broke or tied five Hobart records, while leading the Statesmen to a 34-18 upset of No. 16 St. Lawrence. He recorded 12 receptions for 241 yards and two TDs, tying the record for receptions in a game while eclipsing the single game yards mark by 2.

WR Darius Philon
So., Adrian

Philon did his part to help the Bulldogs rally against Olivet in a 44-37 loss. He had career highs of 10 receptions and 265 yards with two TDs. His first resulted in an 83-yard score that snapped a 30-point run by the Comets, bringing Adrian within 30-20 in the third quarter. He also hauled in an 8-yard TD to make it 37-34 Olivet with 7:24 left.

WR Logan Winkler
So., Thomas More

Winkler helped lead the Saints to a 63-16 win at Thiel on Saturday. He pulled in six catches for 232 yards and three touchdowns. Winkler had touchdown receptions of 72, 64 and 67 yards.

Defense

DE Josh Leonhard
Fr., North Central (Ill.)

Leonhard tied the North Central single-game record for sacks and coming up just a half-tackle short of the Cardinals' single-game record of seven tackles for loss. He helped lead North Central to a single-game team record of 11 sacks in clinching the CCIW's automatic bid.

DT Jake Glasser
Sr., Claremont-Mudd-Scripps

Glasser and the Stags' defense held Chapman to 126 yards of total offense in a 17-6 win. He finished with three and a half tackles for loss, two sacks.

DT Riley Markko
Sr., Wooster

Markko logged a career-high 12 tackles, including two sacks to thwart early scoring threats by Hiram. Later, Markko forced a fumble against Hiram's running back who was held to 54 yards rushing, a week after having a 200-yard game.

DE Gary Brodek
Sr., Ohio Wesleyan

Brodek recorded five tackles for loss and four sacks in Ohio Wesleyan's win vs. Allegheny. He finished with 12 tackles, seven solo. He had a 10-yard sack on third down to end a drive and forced a fumble on a sack in the fourth quarter.

 

LB Kyle Brittain
Jr., Carnegie Mellon

Brittain helped the Tartans to a come-from-behind 37-24 victory at Chicago. With 11 minutes to play, Brittain recorded the momentum turning play, as he returned an interception 85 yards for a touchdown which pulled the Tartans to within 24-21. The junior finished the game with eight tackles, including two for a loss of 11 yards, and the interception.

LB Roderick Caine
Sr., Wesley

Caine was essential in helping the Wolverines shut down the Salisbury triple option run game. He made five total tackles, and finished with a sack, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. Caine popped the football loose on a big hit in the backfield in the second quarter for his first forced fumble, and then recorded a strip sack later in the game, falling on the ball and sealing the win.

LB Spencer Donahue
Sr., Trinity (Conn.)

Donahue led all tacklers with 11, including nine solo hits in Trinity's 24-14 win over Amherst to keep the Bantams unbeaten and at the top of the NESCAC standings. He also recorded two and a half tackles for loss, and a sack. Donahue scored the game-winning touchdown  in the fourth quarter when he made a sack, forced a fumble, recovered the ball,  and returned it 8 yards into the end zone to give Trinity a 17-14 lead.

 

CB Ben Marcus
So., Washington U.

Marcus recorded a career-high 17 tackles, a tackle for loss and an interception in the Bears' 49-46 win over Hendrix. His interception in the third quarter led to an offensive touchdown as Wash U. extended its lead to 28-17.

S Zach Matter
Sr., Central

Matter led the Dutch with 10 tackles, including seven solo stops. He helped Central hold the Storm scoreless in the second half as the Dutch scored 42 unanswered points. He also added a pass breakup on third down in the third quarter and had an interception in the fourth quarter.

S Ryan Grandlic
Sr., St. Norbert

Grandlic's 26 tackles (10 solo) were the most for a St. Norbert player since 1997 and the third-highest total in school history. Grandlic also had two tackles for loss and a fumble recovery.

CB Michael Alada
Sr., St. Thomas

Alada had three takeaways in the first half of a road win at Gustavus. He posted his eighth and ninth interceptions of 2016 and added a fumble recovery and three tackles to help the Toms build a 26-3 halftime lead in a 40-6 win. UST's defense allowed just 128 net yards and no touchdowns. 

Special teams

K AJ Morrison, Sr.
Heidelberg

Morrison connected on three field goals and four extra points as Heidelberg defeated Baldwin Wallace 37-27.

P Tyler Kohman, Jr.
Carnegie Mellon

Kohman averaged 47.8 yards per punt while netting an average of 43.0 yards on six punts. Kohman had a long of 54 yards, as he played a huge factor in field position in a 37-24 win vs. Chicago.

RET Nicodemus Gambill, Sr.
Utica

Gambill returned a first-quarter kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown vs. Alfred. He now has the two longest kick returns for a touchdown in program history (99 yards against Morrisville, 97 yards against Alfred on Saturday).

ST Nick Annin, Sr.
Washington U.

Annin blocked the potential game-tying field goal with two minutes left in Wash U.'s 49-46 win over Hendrix at home. Annin also added three tackles.
