Season on the line

More news about: Alfred

Tyler Johnson has been starting at quarterback for Alfred for his entire career with the Saxons, and you can be sure the senior has confidence and is playing at his best. So when he doesn't see a receiver open and he's ready to take off and run, well, be prepared for something that makes our announcer speak in tongues. That's in the D3football.com Play of the Week.

We solicit video of top plays from every Division III football program and this was our top clip.

Week 13 Play of the Week finalists

Here are some great plays which deserved extra mention:

Perhaps not the most spectacular of plays, but certainly a meaningful one: Anthony Moeglin hits Anthony Leonetti for the game-winning TD in JCU's 20-17 2 OT victory over Wesley.

Mount Union needs a touchdown in the fourth quarter to win -- which is noteworthy enough on its own, but take a look at how Jared Ruth goes up to get this ball at Johns Hopkins.

With Wheaton trailing 7-0 and North Central driving, Eric Stevenson came up with his second interception in as many playoff games, picking off a pass at the 3 and returning it 34 yards for the Thunder. Wheaton went on to win 31-14.
