Leaping for the title

More news about: Aurora

Aurora's Justin Gibbons blocked the Benedictine extra-point attempt in overtime to secure a 28-27 victory and gave Aurora a share of the 2016 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference championship. It's the D3football.com Play of the Week.

We solicit video of top plays from every Division III football program and this was our top clip.

Week 11 Play of the Week finalists

Here are some great plays which deserved extra mention:

Wykeyhe Walker laid out to make a one-handed grab in the end zone, catching a touchdown pass for the new No. 1 team in the country, Mary Hardin-Baylor, and setting the UMHB career receptions record in the process. This was the winner of the fan vote.

Kolton Koch, who is lined up at right guard for Monmouth on this play, takes the handoff, rolls out and hits Yansay Williams 33 yards downfield to set up first-and-goal. The Scots scored two plays later and went on to roll over archrival Knox 59-7 in the Bronze Turkey game.

You can see more nominated plays on our Week 11 highlights playlist below, and even more top plays on the D3sports.com YouTube channel.
