This play comes with a little helmet-to-ball contact

Yes, we agree, this has to be the play of the week. Cortland's pass tips off the hands of the Red Dragons receiver, off the head of Utica defender Matthew McCoy, into the arms of Dehstin Smart for an interception. Utica had more than enough magic to pull off the 24-13 upset of Cortland. It's the D3football.com Play of the Week.

We solicit video of top plays from every Division III football program and this was our top clip.

Week 4 Play of the Week finalists

Here are some great plays which deserved extra mention:

Fan vote winner: Spencer Wiersberg kicks a career-long 43-yard field goal on the final play of the game to lift McDaniel past Ursinus 30-27, snapping the Green Terror's 22-game losing streak.

Freshman Kahlil Caracter came up big on Homecoming at Geneva, as he hurdled a defender and dove for the end zone to give Geneva a 21-7 lead in front of a crowd of 6,000. Geneva went on to win, 35-27.

St. Thomas gets pressure on the St. John's quarterback and defensive lineman Anthony King-Foreman gets a nice bounce and is off to the races, helping St. Thomas win 33-21 in front of an announced crowd of 16,514.

Jeremy Stephan's 64-yard TD run in Macalester's 34-0 victory over Grinnell comes with a pretty apt description on the broadcast, so we'll let them talk you through it.
