A little bit of magic

More news about: La Verne

Zak Tomlinson rolled out to his right and threw a perfect ball to the back pylon towards Alex Arellano, who made a spectacular jumping catch to give the Leopards their final lead in a wild 57-56 win vs. Occidental. It's the D3football.com Play of the Week. (It was also the fan vote winner.)

We solicit video of top plays from every Division III football program and this was our top clip.

Week 7 Play of the Week finalists

Here are some great plays which deserved extra mention:

Pacific running back Brandon Boyd runs for the first of three touchdowns. Everyone but Boyd thinks he is down but he ends up going the distance for a 73-yard touchdown run vs. Lewis & Clark.

How about simply an incredible touchdown catch by Alec Fisher for Rose-Hulman? This was one of his two first-quarter TDs in a 44-9 win vs. Manchester.

Hunter Belzo had two carries, 160 yards and two touchdowns for Springfield in its win vs. Rochester. Here's the second one, which went 91 yards for a touchdown.

With Muhlenberg leading 23-0 late in the first half, Nick Palladino moved from behind center, ostensibly to set up the play. The direct snap went to running back Nick Savant, who flipped it to wide receiver Sean Robbins, coming around from the end. Robbins tossed to a wide-open Palladino in the end zone for a 5-yard touchdown.
