Stand and deliver

More news about: Olivet

Braden Black has been the man at quarterback for Olivet and he stood tall on Saturday, hanging tight as two players tried to bring him down, then finding Tyler Mojet in the end zone for a 7-yard touchdown to tie the game. What a throw! It's the D3football.com Play of the Week. (It was also the fan vote winner.)

We solicit video of top plays from every Division III football program and this was our top clip.

Here are some great plays which deserved extra mention:

Central running back Nathan Fitzgerald takes a screen pass and hurdles a defender for the TD in a 51-37 win vs. Wartburg.

It's so hard to tell from this low-res video, but Puget sound receiver Brennan Schon really does catch this pass off the Lewis & Clark defensive back's back.

Nick Costello makes a nifty catch, then keeps his momentum from carrying him out of bounds as he goes down the sidelines for the game-winning touchdown for Lycoming vs. Lebanon Valley.

Hmm, yes, so ... that shovel from the running back to the receiver is most definitely a forward pass. Beautiful play, if it were legal, but two forward passes is definitely a no-no. Then after that, Joe Germinerio hit Nate Wilkinson deep downfield for a 46-yard touchdown pass after getting the ball back on a reverse flea-flicker. The score gave Brockport a 21-13 lead in a game it eventually won 21-19.
