    Trinity (Texas) has announced that defensive coordinator Jim Dawson will serve as the acting head coach for the Tigers this weekend at LaGrange. Head Coach Steve Mohr developed a pulmonary infection over the weekend, which will preclude him from traveling with the team. He is expected to make a full recovery, and it is not expected to miss any more games. “With Steve not being well enough to take the road trip this weekend, it became necessary to clarify the football team’s leadership by asking Jim Dawson to be the acting head coach for the time being,” explained King. “We expect Steve to benefit greatly from the rest and medical care he is receiving, and we know he is anxious to return to the sidelines as soon as he is well.” Coach Dawson has extensive football experience at both high school and collegiate levels, and is in his first season as Trinity’s Defensive Coordinator, though he also served as the defensive backs coach for the Tigers in 2009.
