    The NCAA has announced that two Bluffton University standouts have topped the nation in three individual categories for the 2015 football season. Senior Ryan Aelker (Holgate/New Bavaria) is the Division III statistical champion for sacks per game and tackles-for-loss per game. Sophomore Micah Roberson (Ada) joined Aelker as an NCAA statistical champion on the other side of the ball. Roberson led the country in receptions per game.

    The Touchdown Club of Richmond has announced that Washington and Lee Head Coach Scott Abell has been selected to receive the Willard Bailey Coach of the Year Award as the State Coach of the Year for the College Division.
  • Girardi a part of College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2016

    Frank Girardi cobbled together one of the finest resumes in the history of college football. He won 257 games, which still ranks 16th all-time in NCAA history. He helped Lycoming win 13 Middle Atlantic Conference titles and make 11 appearances in the NCAA Division III Tournament. He led the Warriors to the national title game in 1990 and 1997 and the semifinals in 1996. On Friday, Jan. 8, he was rewarded with perhaps the biggest honor of his career, as he was announced as part of a group of 16 inductees that are part of the 2016 National Football Foundation & College Football Hall of Fame class, the foundation announced in Scottsdale, Ariz., as part of the pregame festivities at the College Football Playoff.

    When the Little Rock Touchdown Club and Wright, Lindsey & Jennings LLP handed out the awards for the 3rd annual CLIFF HARRIS AWARD, Bluffton defensive end Ryan Aelker (New Bavaria/Holgate) was announced as one of two athletes to share the top spot in Division III. Along with Aelker and Tom Lally from Mount Union, Adam Sauder took home top honors for NAIA while Marqui Christian (Division II) was named the overall winner of the Cliff Harris Award.
