December 7, 2024 Cortland Season Closes with 40-28 Loss to Springfield in NCAA Third Round CORTLAND, N.Y. - Nationally 23rd-ranked Springfield ran for 351 yards and six touchdowns as the Pride defeated second-ranked and defending national champion Cortland, 40-28, in the third round of the NCAA Division III football tournament at Grady Field.
December 5, 2024 Cortland Football Game Notes vs. Springfield - NCAA Third Round (Dec. 7 at Cortland) Cortland hosts Springfield College in a battle of unbeaten teams in the third round (round of 16) of the 40-team NCAA Division III football playoffs. The defending national champion Red Dragons, at the end of the regular season, were ranked second by both D3football.com and the AFCA and are fourth in the Division III NCAA Power Index. Springfield was ranked 23rd by D3football.com and 20th by the AFCA, and the Pride were 10th in the final NPI rankings.
November 30, 2024 Cortland Holds Off Endicott, 17-9, in NCAA Second Round CORTLAND, N.Y. - Cortland took a 14-0 halftime lead and held off Endicott in the second half to defeat the Gulls, 17-9, in an NCAA Division III tournament second-round game at Grady Field.
November 26, 2024 Cortland Football Game Notes vs. Endicott - NCAA Second Round (Nov. 30 at Cortland) Cortland hosts Endicott College in the second round of the 40-team NCAA Division III tournament. Cortland (10-0) is ranked second nationally by both D3football.com and the AFCA and is fourth in the Division III NCAA Power Index (NPI). The defending national champion Red Dragons earned a bye into the second round. Endicott (10-1) is ranked 10th nationally by D3football.com and 11th by the AFCA, and the Gulls are 21st in the NPI. Endicott advanced to the second round with a 44-0 home win versus Alfred State last Saturday. The winner will face either Springfield or UMass Dartmouth in the third round on Dec. 7.
