Offense
QB Mark Petruziello, Sr., John Carroll
Petruziello set a Division III record by completing 95.5 percent of his passes in the Blue Streaks' 41-14 win at Thomas More. He completed 21 of 22 passes for 242 yards and five touchdowns and also ran for 57 yards in the victory.
OL Josh Berman, Jeremy McKinney, Bryan Burdalski, David Preston, Tim Hackmann, Salisbury
Salisbury ran for 380 yards in 64 rushing attempts, which was good for a 5.9 average per carry, in a 30-28 win against Albright.
RB Andrew Giuliano, Sr., Cortland State
Giuliano broke the school single-game rushing record with his 281 yards in a 51-37 win at Morrisville. The previous mark of 276 yards was set in 1983. He scored on TD runs of 89, 70, 40 and 6 yards. The 89-yard run was the second-longest run from scrimmage in school history.
RB Jared Chunn, Jr., Kean
Chunn an 29 times for 238 yards and three touchdowns. He scored on both of the Cougars' first two possessions and his touchdown runs of 2 yards, 61 yards and 46 yards gave the Cougars a 27-0 lead at halftime.
WR Matt D'Angelo, Sr., Elmhurst
D'Angelo broke or tied three Elmhurst records while leading the Bluejays to a 35-0 win against Benedictine. D'Angelo scored all five of the Bluejays touchdowns while tying the Elmhurst single-game receptions record (13). He broke the school's single-game record for receiving yardage (256) and touchdown receptions (five), scoring on touchdown receptions of 12, 63, 61, 11, and 27 yards.
WR Jack Phelan, Sr., Hartwick
Phelan caught 13 catches for 289 yards and six TDs on Saturday in a 63-37 home win against Western New England. Phelan found the end zone four times in the first half alone and has now caught 30 career touchdown passes.
TE Nick Peoples, Jr., East Texas Baptist
Peoples caught seven passes for 91 yards and a touchdown in a 29-15 loss at St. John's. The touchdown was a 48-yarder in which he rumbled through multiple tackles on his way to the end zone to give the Tigers a 15-14 lead in the third quarter.
Defense
DL Jarrell Chandler, Sr., Salisbury
Chandler led Salisbury in tackles (11, seven solo), tackles for losses (five), and sacks (two). Also, he blocked an important Albright extra point in the fourth quarter as the Sea Gulls upended Albright, 30-28.
DL Karl Grant, Jr., Dubuque
Grant had nine tackles, three solo, two and a half tackles for loss and a sack and a half in Dubuque's 49-7 win against Rockford.
DL Dyon Moore, So., William Paterson
Moore notched a game-high 11 tackles in William Paterson’s season-opening 26-20 double-overtime NJAC road defeat at Brockport State. In the contest, he registered five solo stops, one and a half tackles for a loss, a sack, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. One of his forced fumbles halted Brockport’s first overtime possession at the 1-yard line and forced a second overtime period.
LB Adam Hay, Sr., Centre
Hay had 15 tackles, six solo, in a 46-22 win against Hanover. He had two tackles for loss and a sack, as well as a fumble and an interception. He returned the interception 46 yards to the 4-yard line, setting up Centre's second TD.
LB Eric Keyes, So., Wooster
Keyes had seven tackles and two sacks in his first career start, helping hold Waynesburg running back Robert Heller to a career-low 104 rushing yards in Wooster's
LB Stefan Nicotra, Sr., WPI
Nicotra was all over the field in WPI's thrilling 34-28 five-overtime win at Mass-Dartmouth. The senior notched a career-high 14 tackles, including seven solo tackles. Nicotra added a half a sack, a tackle for loss and a pass breakup.
LB Ryan Wimmer, Jr., St. John's
Wimmer had 10 tackles (four solo), one for loss and an interception in the Johnnies' 29-15 win against East Texas Baptist. The Tigers managed just 31 yards rushing.
DB Chris Baldwin, Sr., Johns Hopkins
Baldwin scored a school-record three defensive touchdowns in a 34-3 win against St. Lawrence. He returned two interceptions for scores (45 yards, 28 yards) and added a fumble return (32 yards) for a touchdown. His 10 tackles tied his career high.
DB Jason Chier, Sr., Ithaca
Chier blocked Lycoming's extra point attempt on the Warriors' go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter of a game Ithaca eventually won 17-16. He also intercepted passes to end each half and had three tackles.
DB Matt Meyer, Sr., Aurora
Meyer returned one of his two interceptions on the day 74 yards for a touchdown. He also broke up a pair of passes and had four tackles, one for loss, in a 35-13 win at Lake Forest.
DB Michael Sims, Sr., Millsaps
Sims had a team-high seven tackles, five solo, as well as a pass broken up in a 42-6 win at home against Mississippi College.
Special teams
K Brian Reckenbeil, Sr., Moravian
It might be all downhill from here for Reckenbeil, who kicked a school-record 47-yard field goal in his first attempt of the season. He was also perfect on extra points and had a 35-yard field goal in a 27-14 win against Susquehanna.
P Mike Shedlosky, So., Carnegie Mellon
Shedlosky averaged 42.2 yards on five punts, placing two inside the 20 with a long of 50 in a 35-7 victory against Ohio Wesleyan.
RET Mario Wallace, Jr., LaGrange
wallace returned a punt 63 yards for a touchdown to help the Panthers get past Birmingham-Southern 34-31 for the first win in the program's history. Wallace also had 16 carries for 80 yards and caught six passes for 111 yards.
