Offense
QB Chris Sharpe, Jr., Springfield
It was Sharpe's legs more than his arm that led his team to a 38-30 upset of No. 11 Union. He ran the ball 23 times for 268 yards and four touchdowns (66, 69, 34 and 4). Sharpe was also 4-for-5 passing for 107 yards and two touchdowns (54 and 20). His total yardage (375) broke a 32-year old school record.
OL Mark Miller, Tony Miller, Caleb Buck, Justin Catalano, Max Roessler, Oberlin
The four juniors and one sophomore powered the Yeomen to 597 yards of total offense in a 48-34 win over Heidelberg. They allowed no sacks on 37 pass attempts, and only four tackles for a loss on 40 carries. Seven Oberlin drives went for 65 or more yards.
RB Dane Daniels, Sr., Monmouth
Daniels totaled 205 yards on 23 carries, four of which resulted in touchdowns (71, 1, 20 and 37) as the Fighting Scots defeated Lawrence 49-6.
RB Jeremiah Marks, Jr., DePauw
Marks carried the ball 32 times for 202 yards and two scores. He scored two touchdowns in the final 3:59 to take DePauw from a 13-12 deficit to a 25-13 win over Anderson. Marks ran for 88 yards on seven carries in the game's final eight minutes.
WR Joe White, Jr., Earlham
White hauled in 13 receptions for 231 yards and four touchdowns in Earlham's 49-35 win against Manchester.
WR Jacob McDonnell, Fr., Macalester
Before taking the second half off, McDonnell caught touchdown passes of 28, 19 and 74 yards to help Macalester snap a 15-game losing streak. He finished with six catches for 193 yards.
WR Chad Arlt, So., Gustavus Adolphus
Arlt caught eight passes for 188 yards and two scores. He scored from 44 yards and three yards in the 35-7 win over Williamette.
Defense
DL Dustin Schelling, Sr., Simpson
Schelling was in Bethel's backfield all day, finishing with 11 tackles (seven solo), five tackles for loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. One of his recoveries was returned 88 yards for a touchdown to give the Storm a 10-0 lead after the first quarter.
DL Tyler Stewart, Jr., Western New England
Stewart helped lead a Golden Bears defense that allowed only 19 yards rushing on 41 carries, sacking the two Westfield State quarterbacks a total of nine times in the process. The nose guard finished with three solo sacks for a loss of 25 yards.
DL Adam Jordison, Sr., Coe
Jordison's five tackles (four solo) and 3.5 tackles for a loss led a Kohawks' defense that held Aurora to minus-5 yards rushing on 30 carries for the day for a 45-0 win.
LB Ross Salovitch, Jr., Husson
Salovitch finished with 15 tackles (12 solo) and four tackles for a loss in the 21-7 win over Utica.
LB Gene Lang, Sr., St. John Fisher
Lang made 17 tackles (seven solo) to lead St. John Fisher to a 30-10 win over Rochester. He had three tackles for a loss and one sack.
LB Sean Crowley, Sr., Curry
Crowley led a Colonels defense that held Fitchburg State to 1.3 yards per rush. He finished the day with eight tackles (seven solo), five tackles for a loss, three sacks and one forced fumble.
LB Granger Shook, So., Huntingdon
The Hawks' defense frustrated the Sewanee offense all day, holding the Tigers to 57 rushing yards on 38 carries. Shook led the way with 13 tackles (eight solo), five tackles for a loss, two sacks and one pass deflection.
DB Mike Hansen, Sr., WPI
Hansen returned a pair of second half interceptions for touchdowns to help WPI defeat crosstown rival Worcester State 40-20. His first touchdown was a 50-yarder early in the third quarter while his second was a 70-yard scamper midway through the fourth. Hansen, who also forced a fumble, added three solo tackles.
DB Dwight Bonner, So., Texas Lutheran
Bonner intercepted passes on the final two Trinity (Texas) drives and preserved a 14-9 victory for the Bulldogs. Texas Lutheran defeated Trinity for the first time since 1977.
DB Cory Walsh, Sr., Washington and Jefferson
Walsh had 12 tackles (seven solo), three pass breakups and an interception return for a touchdown in the closing seconds to clinch a 22-10 victory.
DB Brian Nitsche, So., Alfred
Nitsche led an Alfred defense that held the Tomcats scoreless in a 14-0 win. He recorded four pass deflections, four solo tackles, one interception and one fumble recovery. His pick came with less than a minute remaining in the game to seal the win.
Special teams
K Ben Scott, Sr., Johns Hopkins
Scott tied a Centennial Conference record by hitting a 52-yard field goal in the Jays' 21-14 victory over Randolph-Macon. He also kicked a 30-yard field goal to give him 33 for his career which ties the conference all-time mark. Scott also averaged 44.8 yards on four punts – including a 61-yarder – landing two inside the 20.
P Kevin Soflkiancs, Jr., Baldwin-Wallace
Soflkiancs booted four punts a total of 189 yards in Baldwin-Wallace's 17-7 win against No. 15 Augustana. He had two punts that landed inside the 20-yard line, including a 63-yarder that was downed at the 1-yard line.
RET Chris Jackson, Sr., Millsaps
Jackson returned six kickoffs for 205 yards, including a 99-yard return for a touchdown in the first quarter of Millsaps 41-38 loss to Louisiana College. He also hauled in three catches, one for a score.
RB/RET R.J. Jackson, Jr., Carleton
Jackson scored three different ways en route to Carleton's 50-14 win against Minnesota-Morris. He scored his team's first six touchdowns on four runs (11, 30, 2, and 1), a reception (46) and a kickoff return (93). He finished with 208 all-purpose yards, but only touched the ball 12 times.
