Thunder strikes

Each team had been held to a field goal with halftime looming, so points were at a premium. On the last play of the half, though, thunder struck as quarterback Andrew Bowers found tight end Zach Lindquist down the field. The catch and lunge are the D3football.com Play of the Week.

We solicit video of top plays from every Division III football program and this was our top clip.

Week 8 Play of the Week finalists

Here are some great plays which deserved extra mention:

Emory and Henry's Tre'von Lightfoot returns an interception 98 yards for a touchdown, taking away what would have been a touchdown to give Catholic the lead and turning into a 37-24 Wasps advantage with 3:02 left. E&H won 44-24.

Wesley's Andre Connally intercepted a pass from Dante Pinckney and returned it 51 yards to the Rowan 18-yard line. No. 4 Wesley scored five plays later to secure a 38-25 win over the No. 21-ranked Profs.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps wide receiver Trey Smith caught two TDs in the final minute from Trey Reynolds. This clip is with 12 seconds left: one-handed TD grab by Smith to tie the game at 42-42. The PAT gave CMS the lead and a safety made it a 45-42 win vs. Occidental.
