Many thrills occurred in the first period with the action kicking off. A masterclass of offensive execution from Berry began with Josh Rogers' 61-yard rush to capture the opening points of the 2024 season and set the tone early for the game. The energy didn't wane as Berry's offense continued to fire on all cylinders. Christian Lewis fired two thirty yard receptions for the next touchdown of the night before he and Brandon Cade linked up for a 1-yard rush into the end zone for the final Viking touchdown of the first half. The defense, led by a relentless front line, kept Huntingdon at bay, frustrating their attempts to score.
By halftime, Berry was firmly in control, with a commanding 22-7 lead. The highlight of the first half was Berry's impressive defensive stands and well-timed offensive strikes that ensured the Hawks opportunities were limited.
The Vikings emerged from the locker room with even more intensity. The second half was nothing short of spectacular, as Berry's offense turned up the heat. Brandon Cade delivered a breathtaking 70-yard rush to set up another touchdown, and Christian Lewis connected with Brendan Gray for a jaw-dropping 59-yard touchdown pass. The Berry fans who made the road game were on their feet as the scoreboard continued to light up.
Berry's defense also stepped up, stifling Huntingdon's attempts to mount a comeback. Despite their best efforts, Huntingdon could not break through Berry's well-organized defense, which continuously pressured and dismantled their offensive plays.
The Vikings offensive juggernaut continued to roll as Christian Lewis found Bryce Herring for another touchdown, putting Berry ahead 43-7. The final quarter saw Berry's defense tightening its grip, ensuring that the Hawks' last-minute drives were thwarted, and Berry maintained their dominance.
Berry returns to action next weekend at Valhalla to face off against DePauw University at 1:00 PM ET.
