Birmigham-Southern shocked No. 7 Berry under the lights on Saturday night. Meanwhile, No. 9 Ithaca and No. 22 Cortland each won to remain unbeaten heading toward their season-ending clash, and Mount Union's kicker had a field day in games involving members of the D3football.com Top 25 on Oct. 19, 2019.

Berry came out and kicked a 43-yard field goal at the beginning of the second half to cut Birmingham-Southern's lead to 21-9, and had the ball with first-and-goal from the 3 on the next possession. But Gibbs Sherrell intercepted a pass at the 1, and the Panthers held on a later fourth-and goal. Meanwhile, B-SC embarked on a bruising 14-play, 96-yard drive to go up 28-9 and put the game away. Berry scored on the final play of the game for the 28-15 final.

With No. 2 Mount Union already up big on Capital, the Purple Raiders let their kicker do the scoring, as Cory Barnett put up a Division III record 21 kicking points in a 66-0 win. Barnett missed on the first extra point attempt of the afternoon, but made the next six extra points, then added five field goals as Mount Union went from 48-0 with 7:36 left to a 66-0 final. Barnett kicked field goals on first down and third down, including a 22-yard kick which took place after Mount Union's Heath Snyder ran out of bounds intentionally at the 5-yard line after an interception on Capital's first drive of the second half.

The previous record for points scored by kicking was 20, set back in 1984 by Jim Hever of Rhodes in a game against Millsaps.

Cortland jumped out to a 21-7 lead behind an 84-yard kickoff return and a punt block return for a score and held on to beat Alfred, 31-21. Saxons quarterback Casey Boston threw for a touchdown and ran for two, the second one coming with 12:18 left in the game as Alfred cut the lead to 28-21. But Cortland held on thereafter and added a late field goal to secure the win. Brett Segala completed 18 of 26 passes for 166 yards for the No. 22 Red Dragons (6-0), who compliled just 221 yards of total offense on the day.

No. 9 Ithaca improved to 6-0 on the season as well and moved to 3-0 in the Liberty League with a 34-0, shutout victory over Hobart. Ithaca dealt Hobart its first shutout loss in nearly two decades, since a 14-0 loss to Rochester in 2000. The defense locked down Hobart's offense to 201 yards and held the Statesmen to 5-of-12 on third down conversations and 0-for-3 on fourth down attempts. IC's defensive unit also tallied four sacks for 20 lost yards, seven tackles for loss (32 yards) and six pass breakups.

Ithaca and Cortland end the regular season with the Cortaca Jug rivalry game, which is being held this year at Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. More than 40,000 tickets have been sold for that game.

Joe Hartley-Vittoria broke loose for a 68-yard touchdown run with 4:16 to play and capped it off with the two-point conversion run as Franklin & Marshall knocked off No. 20 Johns Hopkins 20-17. F&M stuffed Johns Hopkins on two separate goal-line stands from the 1-yard line and intercepted the Blue Jays twice to grab the win. The victory was F&M's first against Johns Hopkins in six seasons.

No. 3 UW-Whitewater overcame a slow start and rainy weather for a 38-0 triumph at UW-Stevens Point. The Warhawks (6-0, 3-0 WIAC) piled up 215 rushing yards and held the Pointers to 59 yards rushing on the other side of the ball. Junior running back Alex Peete rushed 16 times for 114 yards and three touchdowns to lead the UW-Whitewater offense. Jacob Erbs had seven tackles, a tackle for loss and an interception return for a touchdown for the Warhawks as UW-Stevens Point dropped to 2-4, 1-2.

Colin Schuetz completed 21 of 35 passes for 248 yards and two touchdowns and Wyatt Thompson ran for 125 yards and a score as No. 18 UW-Platteville defeated UW-Stout 33-27. The Pioneers return to the win column at 5-1, after falling at UW-Whitewater in Week 6. Stout had 382 yards of total offense, 379 through the air.

No. 12 Salisbury jumped out to a 21-0 lead and made quick work of Rowan, winning 38-7 in a game which took just 2 hours, 22 minutes. Hopeton Mair ran for 123 yards and a touchdown, while Jack Lanham threw for two scores and ran for another in the win. The Sea Gulls ran for 336 yards on 50 attempts and improved to 5-0, 3-0 in the NJAC.

Wartburg needed a fourth-quarter rally and it got one, as the No. 14 Knights scored 15 fourth-quarter points to defeat Simpson by 14, 29-15. Bennett Goettsch and Mason Carter each went for more than 100 yards and each scored a touchdown in thr fourth quarter of the win.

In a battle for first place in the MAC, No. 16 Delaware Valley overwhelmed Wilkes 42-0 as the Aggies defense held the Colonels' first team offense to two first downs. Del Val registered five sacks, a 65-yard punt return for a score by Tahmir Barksdale and a blocked punt to set up another touchdown. It was the first loss for Wilkes after a 5-0 start to the season.

23rd-ranked Case Western Reserve fended off an upset bid at St. Vincent, picking up a 34-26 win over the Bearcats. The Spartans improved to 6-0 overall with the win, and remained in the lead in the Presidents' Athletic Conference standings with a 5-0 conference record. SVC dropped to 1-5, 1-4. Three receivers registered 100-yard games for the Spartans. Mario Robaina registered career-highs with 11 receptions and 139 yards. Chase Witte caught six passes, including one for a touchdown, and tallied a career-high 112 yards. Colt Morgan caught a pair of touchdowns in the first half of the game, and finished the contest with six catches for 100 yards.

A week after he threw for eight touchdowns, Wyatt Smith threw for six touchdowns and ran for another as No. 25 Linfield rolled past Willamette, 77-0. Willamette fell to 1-4.

On Friday night, Muhlenberg remained unbeaten, and snapped a two-game losing streak by the No. 6 team in the poll, as the Mules defeated Ursinus 45-21. Michael Hnatkowsky threw for four touchdowns and Ryan Curtiss caught three touchdown passes in the win.
