Games of Oct. 11-12, 2019

Offense

QB Karter Odermann, Sr., Pomona-Pitzer

Previously used at both quarterback and wide receiver, Odermann has been behind center all season for the Sagehens and had his best effort of the season on Saturday. He accounted for six total touchdowns with zero turnovers, completing 20 of 25 passes for 190 yards and rushing 13 times for 115 yards and four touchdowns in a 49-14 win vs. La Verne.

OL Tyler Rosello, Joseph Osborne, Caleb Weatherford, Owen Bolyard, Tyler Norwood, Salisbury

The Salisbury offensive line helped the Sea Gull offense to total 506 yards of total offense, including 411 rushing yards to defeat their Route 13 rivals Wesley, 45-38. It is the most yards Wesley has given up in a game since 2016.

RB Nate Ihlenfeldt, So., St. Norbert

Ihlenfeldt posted a career-high 241 yards rushing in a key 24-6 Midwest Conference North Division win over Ripon. Ihlenfeldt scored three touchdowns on runs of 56, 19 and 11 yards. His performance was St. Norbert's first 200-yard rushing game since 2004 and is the fifth-highest game total in school history.

RB Cornell Beachem, So., Mount St. Joseph

Beachem made the move from wide receiver to running back in Week 5 and that move has paid off big time. This week he rushed the ball 15 times for 81 yards and a touchdown, and caught five passes for 203 yards and three touchdowns. Included in the receptions was a school-record 90-yard touchdown catch. All told he had 20 touches for 284 yards, just two yards short of what Manchester managed in the Lions' 47-14 win.

WR Jermaine Cooper, Sr., Morrisville State

Cooper posted a career high Saturday night for the Mustangs against No. 22 Cortland in receiving, catching eight passes for 223 yards and two touchdowns. Cooper's first touchdown reception on the night was a 34-yard receiving slant score in the first, later adding a second score in the fourth on a 9-yard pass. He averaged 27.9 yards per catch in the contest.

WR Jajuan Thomas, Jr., Cal Lutheran

Thomas was 2 yards shy of the program record for receiving yards in a game, as he caught six passes for 214 yards and two touchdowns. He had three catches of 40-plus yards, including two catches for 50-plus yards and the 70-yard TD. Receptions were 41 yards, 51 yards and 70 yards.

TE Colton Jewell, Sr., Aurora

Jewell had six catches for 109 yards and three touchdowns in Aurora's 63-27 win over Concordia-Chicago. At tight end, he also helped AU rush for 219 yards.

Defense

DE Michael Lohmeier, Sr., Carnegie Mellon

Lohmeier headed a defense that held the Yellow Jackets to 122 yards of total offense while allowing only 31 yards on the ground in a 24-3 win over Waynesburg. The senior turned in a career game with 11 tackles, six solo, four tackles for a loss with two sacks.

DT Dallas McRae, Sr., Wheaton (Ill.)

All four of his solo tackles on Saturday were tackles for lost yardage as he totaled four TFL for minus-12 yards as the Thunder defense held North Park to just 99 yards of offense (only 1.6 yards per play).

DT Adam Farag, So., Minnesota-Morris

Farag had 14 tackles, seven of them solo, for the Cougars in a 28-18 loss to Crown. He had four tackles for loss, to the tune of minus-24 yards, including two and a half sacks. He also deflected a pass which a teammate intercepted.

DE Jordan McInerney, Sr., Lake Forest

McInerney created havoc all afternoon recording two and a half tackles for loss, one and a half sacks, and nine tackles, six of them solo stops. He was credited with an additional three quarterback hurries. The Foresters held a Macalester offense that had rushed for 292 yards the week before to 59 rushing yards.

LB Akeem Jackson, Jr., Mary Hardin-Baylor

Jackson forced three turnovers that led to 21 UMHB points in the Cru's 50-14 win over ETBU. His first interception set up the go-ahead touchdown. He forced a fumble to set up another score and he returned his second interception 73 yards for a touchdown. Jackson added five solo tackles, ten total tackles and a pass breakup as UMHB held the Tigers to minus-5 yards rushing.

LB Dillon Keefe, Jr., Chapman

Keefe notched a season-high 10 tackles, three solo, as the Panthers secured their fourth straight victory. His play was crucial in the final moments of the 21-18 win vs. Redlands. Keefe helped stop Redlands' final drive downfield as he tallied the Panthers' sole sack of the game on a Bulldogs' first and ten, forcing Redlands back 7 yards. After gaining 13 yards back, Redlands had no choice but to go for it on fourth down. Keefe made a big stop with a solo tackle in the backfield, forcing the turnover on downs.

LB Joshua Smith, Jr., Case Western Reserve

Smith helped lead a stellar defensive effort for the 23rd-ranked Spartans in a 35-19 win over Washington & Jefferson. Smith finished the game with eight total tackles (five solo), including a career-high four tackles for a loss and three sacks. All four of his tackles for a loss, including the three sacks, came on third-down plays to end Presidents' drives.

CB Jake Kukowski, Fr., St. Scholastica

In a 26-16 win at Northwestern, Kukowski recorded two interceptions, both of which the offense converted into touchdowns. He also had two more pass breakups and was second on the team with eight tackles, including one for a loss.

S Tyzohn Poole, So., Dean

Poole, a former wide receiver turned linebacker who now plays safety, racked up a game-high 13 tackles and three sacks as the Bulldogs delivered a 28-10 win over SUNY-Martime. Poole's play anchored a defense that held the Privateers to 3.3 yards per play.

S Blaine Netterman, So., Delaware Valley

Netterman registered five total tackles, including three of them solo, and added two interceptions in the Aggies' 28-13 home win vs. King's.

CB Tyshaun Anderson, Fr., Anna Maria

Anderson finished with 24 this past Saturday in a 21-20 win vs. Alfred State. Of those 24 tackles, 16 were solo stops, while he also recorded three tackles for loss. To top it off, he also forced and recovered a fumble with 1:10 left in the game, giving the AMCATs one final possession, which they used to win the game with 16 seconds left.

Special teams

K Anthony Avila, So., Mary Hardin-Baylor

Avila hit all six of his extra points and connected on field goals of 52 and 41 yards to account for 12 total points in UMHB's 50-14 win over East Texas Baptist. The 52-yard field goal is the longest of Avila's career and ties for the second-longest in program history.

P Evan Ellis, Jr., Coe

Ellis averaged 50.5 yards on six punts on Saturday in a 27-13 win vs. Buena Vista, including three punts of more than 50 yards. He placed two of them inside the 20. Ellis also had a 46-yard punt which was downed on the 1-yard line but was wiped out by a Coe holding call. His subsequent kick, from 10 yards further back, went 50 yards and was out of bounds on the BVU 7-yard line.

RET Chris Holbrook, Fr., Albright

Holbrook became the first player in Albright history to run two kickoffs back for touchdowns on Saturday against Wilkes. Holbrook took the game's opening kickoff 91 yards for the score to give Albright the initial 6-0 lead. He then returned a kickoff 93 yards for a score in the second quarter just before halftime. On his other two kickoff returns, he averaged 29.5 yards as well, for a total of 243 yards on kickoff returns.

ST Noah Beckley, Fr., Bridgewater

Beckley, the Eagles' freshman holder, faked a 46-yard field goal on the final play of the first half, carrying it in for a 29-yard touchdown to give Bridgewater a 34-7 lead in a 51-7 win vs. Hampden-Sydney.
