QB Jonathan Germano, Jr., Johns Hopkins
Germano made his first career start in the season opener and guided Johns Hopkins to a 52-17 win at Randolph-Macon.  He was 18-of-23 for 320 yards with five TDs and also rushed for 66 yards and another score.  His scoring tosses covered 8, 50, 32, 7 and 18 yards and he led JHU to touchdowns on seven of nine possessions in just three quarters.

OL Dalton Raper, Mitchell Watts, Zach Schiller, Derek Scott and Thor Daley, Trine
The line led Trine to a school-record 403 rushing yards, including helping a freshman, Lamar Carswell, post the fifth-best individual rushing total in the school's history and the best debut rushing performance (172).

RB Mike Czarnecki, Sr., Albion
Czarnecki scored on runs of 65 and 92 yards in the second quarter, but it was his 6-yard run with 2:57 to play that gave the Britons the lead for good. He finished the night with 240 yards on just 14 carries and added four catches for 41 yards as well.

RB Paxton Grayer, Sr., McMurry
Grayer scored McMurry's first three touchdowns of the game - all in the first quarter - to give his team a 21-0 lead in the season-opening win at East Texas Baptist. Grayer's 257 all-purpose yards (157 rushing, 100 receiving) is the first time in school history that a player has had triple-digit yards both rushing and receiving in the same game.

WR Brad Garcia, So., Hartwick
Garcia had 12 receptions for 240 yards for the Hawks in a 34-23 win vs. Western Connecticut. He scored four touchdowns, from 32, 66, 21 and 20 yards out.

WR Kam Sallee, Jr., Beloit
Sallee scored 30 of Beloit's 50 points in a 51-50 loss at Concordia-Chicago. His 194 receiving yards, on nine catches, are the second-most receiving yards in a game in program history. He also had four carries for 44 yards and a touchdown.

TE Charlie Dowdle, Sr., St. Thomas
UW-Eau Claire had no answer for Dowdle, who put up 209 receiving yards on just four catches in the Tommies' 62-7 win. He had touchdown catches of 71, 36 and 38 yards.

Defense

DE Nick Woodman, Sr., Utica
Woodman posted one and a half sacks in a 42-28 win at Misericordia and is tied for the most sacks in the program's relatively short history. He finished with six tackles, four solo.

DT James Worrilow, Sr., Ursinus
Worrilow was right in the middle of that run-stopping defense that held Millersville to just 42 rushing yards and nine points in a five-overtime win on Division III's opening night. He had 15 tackles (four solo).

DT Andy Miller, Jr., Alfred
Miller had a sack and a pair of tackles for loss among his eight tackles and forced two fumbles, recovering one of them himself in Alfred's 39-25 win over Husson.

LB Chaun Maiava, So., North Park
Maiava was credited with 12 total tackles, including nine solo. He had three tackles for a loss along with two sacks for a loss of 8 yards in North Park's 23-16 victory over Concordia (Wis.).

LB Steve Barroso, Sr., Albright
Barroso had six total tackles, a tackle for loss, one pass breakup and recovered two fumbles helping lead Albright to a 24-23 victory over Salisbury. Both of Barroso's fumble recoveries led to Albright touchdowns. He also batted down a pass attempt in the fourth quarter on third down that forced a Salisbury punt.

LB Jack Perez, Sr., Pacific
Perez finished with six solo tackles and five assists for Pacific in a 32-31 road victory at College of Idaho. He added a pass breakup from the linebacker spot. and forced a fumble on the Coyotes' first possession of the fourth quarter, which was recovered by the Boxers and allowed for Pacific to run a two-play drive to pull within five points.

LB Jacob Wright, Sr., Huntingdon
Wright had three tackles for loss and two sacks among his nine total tackles as the Hawks got their season started with a 56-35 win vs. Louisiana College.

CB Victor Bunce, So., Claremont-Mudd-Scripps
Bunce tied a 20-year-old program record with three interceptions, returning them for 107 yards in a 22-19 overtime loss to Puget Sound. He also had a tackle for loss among his four tackles, all solo.

S Kevin Antol, Sr., Lebanon Valley
Antol made a game-high 11 tackles against Franklin & Marshall on Thursday night, 10 solo. That included two tackles for loss and the game's lone sack. Four of his stops came on one drive in the third quarter while his fourth quarter safety blitz crushed Matt Magarity and turned a third-and-short at the LVC 39-yard line into fourth-and-long for F&M, setting up the Dutchmen's last offensive chance late in the contest.

S Bobby Barbieri, Sr., Rowan
Barbieri intercepted Widener quarterback Seth Klein and returned the ball 22 yards for a touchdown to seal Rowan's season-opening upset of the Pride. He had seven tackles, four solo, including a tackle for loss, and broke up three passes in the win.

CB Bradley Knoblock, Sr., Ripon
Knoblock's three interceptions tied a school and Midwest Conference record. Two of them came in the red zone, with one coming in the end zone. He also blocked an extra point that was returned by a teammate for two points, resulting in a three-point swing in Ripon's one-point win vs. St. Scholastica.

Special teams

K Paul Graupner, Sr., St. Thomas
Graupner made both of his field goals (from 37 and 51 yards) and was perfect on six PATs in a 62-7 win at UW-Eau Claire. He also sent six of his kickoffs into the end zone for touchbacks.

P Rich Bellizzi, Sr., Mass-Dartmouth
Bellizzi averaged 42.4 yards per punt to help Mass-Dartmouth win the battle of field possession against Mount Ida. He pinned two of his five punts inside the 20, including a game-best 55-yard kick.

RET Daniel Lis, Sr., Washington & Jefferson
Lis totaled 126 yards on two punt returns, including a 93-yarder for a touchdown that broke a 26-year-old school record, in W&J's 56-10 season-opening win at Wooster. With the Presidents leading, 28-10, in the third quarter, Lis retreated to his 7-yard line to retrieve a punt and then raced 93 yards up the left sideline. His only other return of the day was a 33-yarder earlier in the contest.

ST Punt Return Unit, Hardin-Simmons
The Cowboy punt return unit had a phenomenal day against Southwestern. Jessie Ramos had a 67-yard touchdown and Alex Bell added a 51-yard touchdown, then Jeremy Harris blocked a punt that he recovered in the end zone for a touchdown and Jaelon Collier almost did the same but could not quite corral it before it went out of the back of the end zone for a safety. HSU had seven punt returns for 198 yards in the game.
