He intercepted the Pioneers' first pass of the game and returned it 21 yards, ripped the ball away from a Utica running back for a forced fumble and recovery that led to Hobart's second touchdown of the game, and forced another fumble on the Pioneers' first drive of the second half. Toran also recorded five solo tackles.

Gaffney led a stifling Dutchmen defense with three sacks among 10 tackles in a 38-17 win over King's. Four of Gaffney's tackles were for a loss and another for no gain as he hit King's quarterback Tyler Hartranft three times off the edge. Eight of his tackles were solo. LVC's starting defense allowed only three points, with both of King's touchdowns coming in the fourth quarter.
