The Team of the Week, presented by Scoutware, is D3football.com's weekly honor roll, in its 24th season of recognizing the top performance at each position from the previous week. Players are nominated by schools.

Offense

QB Luke Lovell, So., Albion

With six TD passes, Lovell tied an Albion record in his first start of 2022 after replacing Jack Bush, who was injured. Lovell threw for 321 yards against Rose-Hulman and also ran for a touchdown, helping Albion stay undefeated.

OL Brendan Boris, Aidan Palochik, Billy Anderson, Mauro Guarino, Anthony Messina, Wilkes

The Wilkes offensive line paved the way for a season-high 260 yards on the ground and 319 through the air for a total of 601 yards of offense in the Colonels' 44-20 MAC victory over Widener.

RB Melik Frost, Jr., Hampden-Sydney

Frost rushed for a game-high and career-high 211 yards on 21 attempts (10.0) and a career-best four touchdowns during a 70-28 home win past Greensboro, adding a career-high 59 yards receiving on three catches and one touchdown. Melik scored on runs of 3 yards in the first quarter, 35 yards in the second quarter, 64 yards and six yards in the third quarter, along with a 47-yard scoring reception in the first quarter from junior quarterback Andrew Puccinelli. The 64-yard touchdown run is the longest run of his career, and the 47-yard touchdown reception is the longest catch of his career, helping Frost account for a career-high 270 all-purpose yards and five total touchdowns.

RB Brandon Washington, So., Gallaudet

Washington tallied 304 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns as Gallaudet defeated University of New England on the road, 34-31. Washington completed three of five passes for 84 yards and two touchdowns as he found freshman wide receiver Jaylen Johnson for both scores with passes of 32 and 28 yards. Washington ran the ball 28 times for 160 yards and one touchdown run of 45 yards to begin the third quarter as GU led 20-10 with 14:04 on the clock. Washington wasn't done yet as he caught two passes for 60 yards including the game-winning pass of 20 yards on fourth-and-8 at the UNE's 20-yard line. Junior quarterback Nicholas Maccini lofted a high pass into the end zone on fourth down at the 7:59 mark in the fourth as GU trailed, 31-27. Washington leaped and came down with the pass for the go-ahead and eventual game-winning touchdown. His other catch went for 40 yards right before halftime as he got GU into the red zone and a field goal right before the half as the Bison led 13-10.

WR Levy Hamer, Sr., UW-Stout

Hamer scored the game-winning touchdown with 15 seconds remaining to lift UW-Stout to a 28-25 win over Gustavus Adolphus. But the 62-yard score was not Hamer's only 60-plus yard reception. Hamer hauled in a 63-yard TD with 2:53 left in the third period to pull Stout to within striking range at 25-20. For the afternoon, Hamer hauled in five passes for 160 yards and a career-high three TDs, recording his first score with 3:10 left in the first period on a 25-yard pass from Sean Borgerding.

WR Phil Lutz, Sr., Tufts

Lutz led a comeback against Trinity that finished just short in a 23-20 loss. He had nine catches for 192 yards in the game, including eight in the second half for 172 yards as the Jumbos outscored the Bantams 20-0 in the third and fourth quarters. His 31- and 28-yard receptions set up a Tufts third-quarter touchdown, then he had a dazzling 44-yard catch-and-run TD early in the fourth quarter.

TE Seth Logan, Sr., Greenville

Seth had two explosive plays of 67 and 48 yards that both got Greenville inside the 5-yard line. His 131 yards in receiving was through three quarters as he was pulled in the fourth quarter due to the score.

Defense

DE Ryan Bodolus, Jr., Ursinus

Bodolus forced two fumbles on two sacks in the Bears' upset of No. 18 Muhlenberg. The junior recorded three solo tackles and broke up one pass at the line of scrimmage.

DT Nate Sicard, So., RPI

Nate helped a defense hold WPI to seven first downs, minus-14 rushing yards on 23 attempts, and 119 yards passing in a 37-0 Rensselaer victory in the Transit Trophy Game. He had five tackles, all unassisted, with three sacks totaling 25 lost yards. He also broke up a pass, batting the ball down at the line of scrimmage.

DE Ben Coyne, Sr., Carnegie Mellon

Coyne turned in a career day in the 20th-ranked Tartans' 40-33 win over Grove City. He finished with a career-high nine tackles (five solo), two and a half tackles for loss and a pair of sacks. The senior also nabbed his first career interception early in the first quarter, which led to a Hayden Hairston 22-yard field goal to give the Tartans a 10-0 lead.

LB Josh Kieffer, Sr., Loras

Kieffer led the Duhawks' defense in a dominant display as Loras defeated No. 12 Central 38-35 in the ARC opener on Saturday. Kieffer had a career-high 15 tackles, including five for a loss of 47 yards. He also had two and a half of Loras' five sacks in the game for a loss of 18 yards. Kieffer also forced a fumble in the fourth quarter that led to a turnover and touchdown for the Duhawks.

LB Casey Peppers, Sr., Huntingdon

Peppers totaled nine tackles, including four sacks, in a 47-7 victory over Guilford. He was credited with seven solo tackles and two assisted take downs. His four sacks resulted in a total loss of 26 yards.

LB Bryce Edwards, So., UW-Oshkosh

Edwards made a career-high nine tackles, including seven solo and three for loss, to help the Titans to a 41-17 victory at Millsaps. Edwards notched an 8-yard sack on a third-down play in UW-Oshkosh territory early in the second quarter. He later stopped Millsaps running backs for an 8-yard loss early in the third period after a 4-yard loss during the second quarter as the Titans went on to build a 41-3 lead.

LB Zac Schmidt, Jr., Wilmington

Schmidt tallied 15 tackles, including seven solo and five for loss in Wilmington's 32-26 Homecoming victory over Otterbein.

CB Kimani Carrington, So., Montclair State

Carrington notched two interceptions as Montclair matched a school record with six picks against salve Regina. He took one of them back 32 yards for a touchdown as the team topped Salve 31-14. Carrington also recorded six tackles, four of them solo stops.

S Trenton Brail, Jr., Lake Forest

Brail intercepted a Knox pass and returned it 81 yards for a touchdown on the last play of the first half. He also caused an interception when his hit on a Knox receiver in the first quarter popped a ball in the air that was secured by Dylan Pedersen to stop the second drive of the game for the Foresters. Brail also recorded a tackle for loss among his four tackles on the day.

S Zachariah Twardosky, Jr., Endicott

Twardosky tied for the team lead in tackles (eight total, six solo) and returned an interception for a 36-yard score to seal Endicott's 28-7 victory over TCNJ. The junior strong safety also recorded one forced fumble and had a pass breakup for the Gulls.

CB Nick Morder, Jr., Lebanon Valley

Moder had two interceptions leading to 14 points for the Dutchmen in a 17-14 overtime victory at FDU-Florham. He picked off his first pass of the game at 2:25 of the first quarter at the FDU 37. LVC needed two offensive plays following the interception to score and take a 7-0 lead. His second pick came in the fourth quarter with the Devils leading 14-7. He stepped in front of a TJ Brown pass deep in the red zone at the 9-yard line with 7:14 left in regulation. The Dutchmen drove the ball 91 yards downfield for the game-tying score following the pick.

Special teams

RET BJ Stewart, So., Trinity (Texas)

Stewart had an outstanding night that included more than 200 all-purpose yards as he led the Tiger to a 52-14 victory over Texas Lutheran. Stewart took the opening kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown to electrify the home crowd and his teammates. Later in the game, he broke loose for a 75-yard punt return touchdown. Both scores were the first return touchdowns in his career.

P Grant Gonya, Sr., John Carroll

Gonya had a career game in a defensive and field position battle against crosstown rival Baldwin Wallace. He averaged 42.5 yards per punt and was constantly switching the field to help John Carroll's defense allow just seven points in their tenth straight win in the Cuyahoga Gold Bowl. Gonya was called upon six times and battled through a running into the kicker penalty, and added a punt inside the ten.

K Corey Lichtman, Sr., Utica

Lichtman made a huge difference in Utica's 23-21 win over Western New England. He was 3-for-3 on his field goal attempts of 42, 26, and 50 yards. The 50 yard field goal tied the school record. He also converted both of his PAT attempts.

ST Adam Quam, So., UW-La Crosse

Quam blocked a pair of potential game-leading field goals in UWL's 28-21 victory at NCAA Division II Wayne State. He blocked a 45-yard field goal with 7:35 left in the third quarter with the score tied, 21-21. On the next Wayne State possession, Quam blocked a Warriors' 39-yard field goal with 2:21 remaining in the third quarter. UWL earned its first win over a Division II team since 2009.
