Wesley's crushing blow

Time's running out. Even though you've both been playoff teams fairly regularly of late, you've beaten your archrivals eight times in a row. This time it looks grim, however, and you face a fourth-and-21 just to keep the game going, trailing with under a minute left. Then the crushing blow comes. It's the D3football.com Play of the Week.

We solicit video of top plays from every Division III football program and this was our top clip.

Week 2 Play of the Week finalists

  • Stevenson freshman Austin Tennessee stole the football from Albright quarterback TJ Luddy as he tried to sneak into the end zone and took it 99 yards for the Mustang touchdown. The return gave Stevenson a 17-3 lead en route to a 24-18 win, the biggest in the young program's history. Watch
  • Thomas Hayes hauls in the catch for the University of Rochester with 15 seconds left despite having his arm interfered with by the Thiel defensive back and brings in the touchdown, cutting Thiel's lead to 27-26. (Rochester's successful two-point conversion is also included in this clip.) Watch
  • Mike Brown gets one foot down in the end zone right in front of the official to start the fourth on a high note, cutting Concordia-Chicago's deficit against the University of Chicago to 23-13. The Cougars found the end zone on a third-and-24 play from the 37-yard line. Watch
