Marietta didn't want its game to extend out any longer against undefeated Ohio Northern on Saturday, and neither did Simpson against ARC favorite Wartburg. Plus, Susquehanna finally broke through after the fourth quarter and Eureka started off strong in a new home.

In a game in which the two teams combined for 1,039 yards of total offense, Marietta hit on a 2-point conversion with 22 seconds left in the game to rally past Ohio Northern 43-42. With the score tied in the fourth quarter, the Polar Bears (4-1, 3-1 OAC) marched 87 yards in 14 plays, took 6:18 off the clock and went up 42-35 with 4:45 left to play on a 3-yard run by Martin. But Marietta (4-0, 3-0) marched 70 yards in 13 plays and scored with 22 seconds left to pull within 42-41. Fields then hit Clark on the 2-point conversion to make it 43-42.

"We did a great job of clock management and scored with little time left and went for two," Marietta coach Andy Waddle said. We didn't give them the chance to move the ball back down the field. In my mind we went for the win because I felt that the two-point conversion play had a 75 to 80 percent chance of working and in overtime its 50-50 on the win."

Simpson was successful on a two-point conversion as well, this one in overtime, as the Storm knocked off Wartburg 37-36. Simpson had taken a Wartburg extra-point attempt all the way back in the fourth quarter to keep the game within striking distance and scored with 16 seconds left to tie the game on a Tanner Krueger touchdown pass. After Matt Sacia ran for a touchdown, his first of the game to go with four TD passes, to open the overtime period, Simpson answered. Krueger found Cam Bunting for a 25-yard score to cut the lead to one.

Then, after a time out, it was Bunting, flipping to Austin Hronich, who threw a perfect pass to Krueger. The quarterback toe-tapped in the end zone for the dramatic win. Krueger threw for four touchdowns and caught the game-ending two-point conversion pass.

Marshon Crowder returned a fumble 50 yards for a touchdown with 29 seconds left in the game and Dubuque defeated crosstown rival Loras 49-42. The defensive score capped a crazy back-and-forth game in which neither team ever led by more than seven. It was Dubuque's eighth consecutive win against the Duhawks. Two Spartans quarterbacks combined to go 20-for-34 for 273 yards and five touchdowns in the win.

Susquehanna lost each of the past two weeks to Centennial Conference contenders in overtime. But the River Hawks' extra experience paid off as they held Dickinson in check in overtime and answered with a 22-yard pass from Nicholas Brotzman to Mitch Carsley for the 30-24 win. Brotzman was just 5-for-16 on the afternoon. Johns Hopkins sprinted out to a 21-6 first quarter lead in its Centennial Conference showdown with unbeaten Ursinus and never looked back in what became a 52-6 Blue Jay victory. Hopkins had eight scoring drives of 60 yards or longer and rolled up 665 yards of total offense against an Ursinus defense that entered the game allowing just 12 points and 226.5 yards per game.

Randolph-Macon held Washington & Lee to eight first downs and dominates the time of possession against the option-offense Generals in a 23-7 win. The Yellow Jackets held the ball for all but 6:45 of the second half and held W&L to 27 total yards after halftime in the win, which was the Old Dominion Athletic Conference opener for both squads. Backup kicker Logan Weis' 41-yard field goal with 3:04 left in regulation gave Bridgewater a 30-28 win at Guilford and Dustin Green sealed the win with an interception in the red zone with 19 seconds remainin. It was the first time any defense has successfully held Guilford's offense in check all season.

After missing their first two field goal attempts against Millsaps, Rhodes had the ball with six seconds left in the game on the 23-yard line. Junior Crew Jacobs pulled out the 33-yard kick to win the game as time expired, handing Millsaps their first loss of the season. The Lynx are now 4-1 on the year, 2-1 in the SAA.

Ben Fleet hauled in a 31-yard touchdown pass with 21 seconds left, lifting Franklin past Rose-Hulman 42-39. The Fightin' Engineers had taken the lead just a minute and a half earlier. After RHIT jumped out to a 21-7 lead, Franklin tied the game on its first possession of the second half and it was a back-and-forth game the rest of the way.

FDU-Florham finished the game with 27 unanswered points and ruined Albright's homecoming with a 48-34 win. Jagger Green threw six touchdown passes, three of them in the rally as the Devils held Albright off the scoreboard in the second half. Mike Panzarino caught nine passes for 136 yards and three touchdowns, while Khrystan Camillo added 10 for 153 yards and two scores in the win. Isaiah Turner led the win with 15 tackles (eight solo), two sacks and a 45-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Trailing 21-7 with 9:47 to play in the second quarter, Martin Luther scored on six consecutive offensive possessions while the defense held St. Scholastica to only 86 yards on their final eight drives. The Knights rolled to a 49-21 win behind 477 rushing yards. Martin Luther improved to 3-1, 2-0 in the UMAC.

Moravian freshman quarterback Christopher Mills made his first career start one to remember as he connected on 12-of-13 passes for 336 yards and a school-record five touchdowns in the first half as the Greyhounds raced out to a 45-0 lead en route to a 59-23 victory over Gettysburg. Mills tossed four of his TDs to sophomore wide receiver Nick Petros, who had school records of 241 yards receiving, breaking the school mark of 222 set by Dale Houser in 1984, and four touchdowns.

Junior running back Craig Merkle rushed for 104 yards and scored two touchdowns as Montclair State shut down and shut out Kean 27-0. Ja'Quill Burch threw for a score and ran for one as the Red Hawks (4-0, 3-0 NJAC) remained unbeaten on the season. Burch was an efficient 17-of-21 for 219 yards, distributing the ball to nine receivers. Kean (0-4, 0-3) has scored just nine points in four games.

Drew Barth threw for two touchdowns and Le'Anthony Reasnover ran for two scores as Eureka started off its Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference tenure with a 31-28 win vs. Aurora. Barth's second touchdown pass was followed by a safety when Aurora was flagged for intentional grounding in the end zone, giving the Red Devils a 31-21 lead early in the fourth. The Spartans cut the lead to three with 3:15 left, but Reasnover ran for 50 yards on five carries to run out the clock.

Utica rallied from a 17-point third quarter deficit to tie the game at 38-38 with 2:02 remaining, but visiting Cortland answered with a seven-play, 65-yard game-winning drive to earn a 45-38 victory in Empire 8 action. Cortland's Nick Anderson caught a 3-yard TD pass from Brett Segala with 1:02 left in the fourth quarter, and the Red Dragons stopped the Pioneers on their final possession, to earn the seven-point victory on Utica's homecoming.
