Week 2 brought more than a couple of upsets as the UW-Oshkosh offense struggled again, but the Mary Hardin-Baylor offense came out firing on all cylinders in Saturday's Top 25 games.

If a team makes its greatest improvement between Week 1 and Week 2, the UW-Oshkosh offense needs another couple of Week 2's, and fast. The Titans finished with just 127 yards of total offense and completed just 10 of 29 passes in a 7-3 loss at Davenport. Davenport is a third-year program, in its second season at the NCAA Division II level.

The Panthers took a 7-0 lead late in the first half and the No. 4 Titans missed a field goal early in the third quarter. They got into Davenport territory twice in the second half, once resulting in a 37-yard field goal by Peyton Peterson and the second ending in a turnover on downs at the Panther 34. The UWO offense has scored 17 points in two weeks and averages 166.5 yards of total offense in those two games.

No. 2 Mary Hardin-Baylor got its season off on a high note, taking it to Albright to the tune of a school record for points in a 91-7 final. Luke Poorman didn't even start for the Cru, who gave the honors to Jase Hammack, a transfer who started his career at Abilene Christian, a Division I FCS program. Markeith Miller ran for six touchdowns in the win. Hammack completed seven of 12 passes for 270 yards and two scores, yielding to Poorman with 6:20 left in the first quarter and again on the second possession of the third quarter. Poorman was 5-for-7 passing for 96 yards. Eleven member of the Cru registered one tackle for loss apiece in the victory, while Jefferson Fritz had two of UMHB's four interceptions.

Ithaca scored with 1:38 left to cut Brockport's lead to 13-7, but could not cover the onside kick and the No. 5 Golden Eagles held on for the victory. Justin Morrison picked up 51 yards on 13 carries before leaving with an injury and Joe Germinerio completed 23 of 37 passes, but they went for just 170 yards against the Ithaca defense. The Brockport defense didn't give up much either, though, as Ithaca managed just 180 points of total offense. Alex West had two and a half tackles for loss, three quarterback hurries and a forced fumble from his linebacker spot.

Matt Sacia threw for 252 yards and a touchdown, but Monmouth's DeAndre Wright ran for 165 yards and two scores as the Scots knocked off No. 13 Wartburg 24-18. The Knights extended their lead to 18-13 with a 36-yard field goal late in the third, but Yansay Williams returned the ensuing kickoff 77 yards to set up an 18-yard drive which gave Monmouth (1-1) the lead. A short Wartburg punt to start the fourth quarter set the Scots up at the 40 and Joey Biel converted on a 21-yard field goal to give Monmouth a 24-18 lead. Wartburg never got closer than the Monmouth 31 the rest of the way.

Illinois Wesleyan rallied from a 16-point fourth-quarter deficit to tie the game at 31-31, but UW-La Crosse's Ryan Beirne hit on a 20-yard field goal as time expired to defeat the No. 21 Titans 34-31. IWU twice blocked (or otherwise interrupted) the game-ending field goal attempt, but only by virtue of a Titans player being significantly offsides each time. Ben Schramski had hit tight end Cole Spieker for a 28-yard gain to midfield to get the drive started. Spieker finshed with six catches for 119 yards and Dominic Labellarte had six catches for 103 yards and two scores in the win.

Jaquan Hemphill ran for 258 yards and two touchdowns and Marc Reed threw for two scores and ran for another as No. 10 Hardin-Simmons won 42-33 at Trinity (Texas). The No. 10 Cowboys, playing their season opener, rolled up 453 yards on the ground, including 30 first downs.

North Central outgained Lake Forest 637-188 and had eight rushing touchdowns from five players in a 70-14 win. It was the season opener for the No. 7 Cardinals. Dominick Muoghalu led the way with 11 carries for 125 yards and three scores. Sixth-ranked Linfield fell in its season opener at former NAIA power Carroll, giving up a 65-yard touchdown pass with 1:29 left and falling 21-14. It was Carroll's third game of the season.

Frostburg State rolled up 24 points in the second quarter and had special teams touchdowns in the first and third as the No. 8 Bobcats rolled to a 47-7 win vs. TCNJ. Wayne Palmer had two and a half of Frostburg's eight sacks and added a forced fumble, while Connor Cox threw three touchdown passes in the second quarter en route to a 12-for-20 day.

No. 12 UW-Whitewater avenged one of last year's early-season losses as the Warhawks defeated Concordia-Moorhead 24-6. Cole Wilber finished 20-of-28 passing with 223 yards and two touchdowns, while Mitchell Dess contributed five receptions for 77 yards and one score, and JT Parish posted four catches for 65 yards and one touchdown

Susquehanna held off No. 18 Johns Hopkins to defeat the Blue Jays 37-35. Aaron Speight and Torey Brown combined for 90 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries in the win, which came after Susquehanna scored 16 unanswered points to take a 37-28 lead. No. 23 Delaware Valley got back on track with a 52-21 at Mass-Dartmouth. Quarterback Dashawn Darden needed just 11 completions to throw for 207 yards and four touchdowns, including two to Dan Allen.

Nick Smith caught the first two passes of his career -- both touchdowns -- and the RPI defense intercepted four passes, including one returned for a touchdown, as the No. 24 Engineers defeated WPI 25-14, in the Transit Trophy Game.
