Offense

QB Canaan Gebele, Sr., Denison

Gebele was responsible for eight touchdowns in Denison's 66-18 win vs. Wooster. Gebele was 19-of-23 passing for 284 yards and four touchdown passes. He also carried the ball 15 times for 120 yards and caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from wide receiver David Weimar. Gebele finished with 409 yards of total offense.

OL Kyle McAtee, Connor Phelps, Jake Slager, Russell Berning, Dane Smith, Wabash

Wabash ran for 426 yards and five touchdown. The Little Giants produced their second-highest rushing total of the season against an Allegheny team that came into the game holding its opponents to an average of 111.4 yards per game. The O-line helped Isaac Avant break free for a 98-yard touchdown run, tied for the second-longest run in Wabash football history. Wabash allowed one sack in the game against a team which averaged four sacks per game, eighth-best in Division III.

RB Trewon Marshall
Sr., Geneva

Marshall broke Geneva's all-time school rushing record with 285 yards rushing and four TDs on 36 carries, the second highest single-game rushing total in school history. Marshall has 3,917 yards rushing in his career with two games left in the season.

RB Austin Mathews
Jr., Texas Lutheran

Mathews set a Texas Lutheran rushing touchdown mark when he scored five rushing TDs in Saturday's 63-20 home win over Sul Ross State. Matthews scored four TDs in the first half and one in the third. He did not play in the fourth quarter. Mathews carried the ball 40 times and 5.6 yards per carry.

WR Glen Gibbons
So., Illinois College

Gibbons set a Midwest Conference record by catching 20 passes in a single game. His 20 receptions went for 246 yards, including three second-half touchdowns of 14, 68 and 12 yards.

WR Kyle Gaudet
Sr., Husson

Gaudet set school records with 249 receiving yards, four touchdown grabs and an average of 35.6 yards per catch in a 63-2 win over Gallaudet. His four touchdown catches brought his season total to 11 to surpass the program's previous single-season record of nine.

TE Riley Shanley
So., Endicott

Shanley picked a good game to have one of the best games of his career as he contributed to Endicott's 41-38 win over Western New England. He caught eight passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns (all career-highs) and a two-point conversion. He caught the 7-yard game-winning touchdown with 21 seconds remaining.

Defense

DE Robert Planter
Sr., FDU-Florham

Planter set a career-high with 3.0 sacks as the Devils knocked off Widener for the first time in 19 meetings. He notched seven tackles, including four and a half tackles for a loss in the 21-17 victory, also a career-high.

DT John Phillips
So., Hendrix

Phillips scooped and scored a fumble from 25 yards out to give Hendrix the lead against Rhodes. He also recorded a pair of sacks for a combined loss of 13 yards and a combined five tackles; four of which were solo stops.

DT John Fitzgerald
Sr., Westminster (Pa.)

Fitzgerald tallied 10 tackles (four solo), four tackles for loss (20 yards), 2.5 sacks (17 yards), two quarterback hurries and a blocked extra point in Westminster's 23-19 victory over Carnegie Mellon.

DE Joshua Smiley
Jr., Framingham State

Smiley forced two fumbles, one of which led directly to a touchdown in a 48-26 win vs. Western Connecticut. He finished with seven tackles, six solo, with 3.5 for a loss and two sacks for loss of 16 yards.

 

LB Dejon Brooks
Sr., Averett

Led the team with 12 tackles, three sacks and three QB hurries in a 25-6 win against Brevard. With his second sack (sacks on back-to-back plays), he broke the Averett program record for career sacks.

LB Jonathan Seay
Jr., Wittenberg

Seay led the Tigers' defensive effort in a 42-13 league win at Ohio Wesleyan. He paced the unit with eight tackles (five solo), which included a half a tackle for loss. He also forced one fumble and picked off two passes, highlighted by returning a pick 12 yards for a score late in the fourth quarter.

 

CB Shannon Moxey
Jr., Dean

Moxey finished with five tackles (all solo), two interceptions which he returned for a combined 84 yards, a tackle for loss and had a forced fumble in a 19-17 win vs. Castleton. His second interception came in the fourth quarter and led directly to the eventual game-winning score.

S Dylan Peterson
Jr., Rockford

Peterson helped lead Rockford to a 24-0 win over Concordia (Wis.) and to its first shutout since 2008. Peterson intercepted two passes, recording a sack, forcing a fumble and making four tackles. His second pick came with less than a minute left in the first half. His diving grab at the Rockford 3-yard line ended CUW's lone trip into the red zone.

S Devinne Greene
Sr., Salisbury

Greene helped lead a solid defensive effort against Wesley that posted a season-high five interceptions, as he picked off Wesley quarterback Khaaliq Burroughs a team-best three times, all in regulation in a 19-13 loss. Greene also totaled six and a half tackles as well as one and a half tackles for loss.

S Jefferson Fritz
So., Mary Hardin-Baylor

Fritz had a team-high six tackles and blocked a Louisiana College field goal. He also broke up a pass as UMHB held the Wildcats to just seven points and 156 yards of total offense.

CB Rashad Baker
Sr., Brockport

Baker led Brockport to the Empire 8 title with a game-winning interception, one of his four on the day. Baker had three in the first half, two of which set up scoring drives in the first quarter. He capped his day, playing spoiler on Cortland's final drive, intercepting the ball in the end zone to put the finishing touches on the Brockport win.

Special teams

K Alessandro Maiuolo
Fr., Claremont-Mudd-Scripps

Maiuolo provided CMS with 10 points in a 16-9 win over Chapman, which clinched the SCIAC automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. He was 3-for-3 on field goals, including his two longest of the season (42, 35) in the first quarter to stake the Stags to a 6-0 lead they would not relinquish. He also added a 24-yard third-quarter field goal.

P Austin Baker
Sr., Heidelberg

Baker punted eight times for an average of 50.6 yards for Heidelberg at John Carroll, with that average boosted by a 95-yard punt. That punt set the record for the longest in Division III history, as Baker, standing in his own end zone, booted it 75-plus yards past the line of scrimmage on the fly and it bounced into the opposite end zone.

RET Aaron Sims
Fr., Mary Hardin-Baylor

Sims returned a punt 74 yards for a touchdown against LC for his third punt return for a score this season. He is tied with teammate K.J. Miller for the national lead and UMHB broke an ASC record with its sixth punt return for a touchdown on the season. Sims also caught a 9-yard TD pass to give him touchdowns on both of his touches in the game.

ST Skyler Blacker
So., Carnegie Mellon

Blacker recorded two blocked kicks. The first came on the Titans first score of the afternoon, as Blacker broke through the line and blocked the point-after-attempt to leave the score 6-0. His second block came at the end of the half, as Blacker put a hand on a 44-yard field goal try to leave the score 16-10.
