Offense

QB Trevor Scharer, Sr., Linfield
Scharer set Linfield’s single-game total offense record with 555 yards in the Wildcats’ 52-42 win against Hardin-Simmons. He was 32-of-45 passing for 511 yards and six touchdowns and added 44 yards on six carries.

OL Josh Berman, Jeremy McKinney, Bryan Budalski, David Preston, Chris Reeves, Salisbury
The Sea Gulls’ offensive line paved the way for 400 rushing yards on 54 attempts in their 35-21 win over then No. 20 ranked Christopher Newport. All five of Salisbury’s scores came on the ground.

RB Vinson Hendrix, So., Alfred
Hendrix rushed 12 times for 217 yards in the first half against St. Lawrence. He had touchdown runs of 72, 63, and 9 yards. Hendrix finished the game with 228 yards on 13 carries in the 49-19 win.

RB Dan Hall, Sr., UW-La Crosse
Hall scored three touchdowns – two rushing, one receiving – in UW-L’s 27-20 overtime win against Azusa Pacific, including the game-winning 9-yard run in OT. He finished the contest with 137 yards on 25 carries, and added two receptions for 56 yards.

WR Evan Blake, So., Capital
In just the second start of his career, Blake hauled in 11 catches for 304 yards. It was the fifth best receiving performance in the 105-year history of the Ohio Athletic Conference.

WR Jake Allen, Sr., Mississippi College
Allen scored three touchdowns within a spam of just over six minutes to give Mississippi College a 28-5 halftime lead over Texas Lutheran. He finished the game with six catches for 141 yards, with his scores being 73, 42, and 25 yards out.

TE Brock Graham, So., Wabash
Graham had 12 receptions for 121 yards in the 28-6 win over Millikin. He turned a screen pass into a 50-yard touchdown in the third quarter.

Defense

DL Jeff Ernst, Sr., Washington and Jefferson
Ernst totaled five tackles for a loss in the Presidents’ 50-14 win against Hanover. He also collected two sacks and one forced fumble which led to W&J’s first touchdown.

DL Jake Zeh, So., Carroll 
Zeh, the MWC defensive performer of the week, recorded six tackles (four solo), 4.5 tackles for a loss of 22 yards, and three sacks. He also recovered a fumble that he forced in the 42-0 win over Grinnell.

DL Desmond Hendricks, Jr., Rhodes
Hendricks made eight tackles (six solo), six tackles for a loss of 32 yards, and three sacks, as the Lynx limited the Birmingham-Southern offense to 77 total yards in a 10-7 win.

DL Ken Bevington, Jr., John Carroll
Bevington recorded a career high 16 tackles (12 solo), including five tackles for a loss and three sacks, in a 21-6 win over Heidelberg.

LB Marc Grow, Sr., Whitworth
Grow returned a fumble 10 yards for a touchdown that gave the Pirates a 19-0 lead in the third quarter. He also intercepted a pass at the goal line to preserve the shutout and was in on a 10-yard sack that forced a Leopard punt. Grow finished the day with six tackles (three solo) and two pass deflections.

LB Cornell Hunt, Jr., Montclair State
Hunt totaled 20 tackles (nine solo) as the Red Hawks knocked off then-No. 9 Springfield, 33-30. His efforts held Springfield’s triple option offense to just 282 yards.

LB Chad Milling, Jr., Western Connecticut
Milling recorded nine tackles (seven solo), five tackles for a loss (for 35 yards), one sack, and one interception, in the first half of a 44-16 win over Morrisville State.

LB Kyle Follweiler, Sr., Wilkes
Follweiler registered 20 tackles (14 solo), six tackles for a loss, two pass deflections, one sack, and one interception in a 14-13 loss to then No. 21-ranked Rowan.

DB Mike Baker, Jr., Grove City
Baker intercepted two Thomas More passes in the end zone, helping Grove City pull out a 23-16 win in both teams' conference opener. His second interception came with 1:22 left in the game to seal the victory.

DB Tommy Breitbach, Jr., Coe
Breitbach tallied nine tackles (five solo), three tackles for a loss, and two pass deflections in the Kohawks’ 20-10 win over Simpson. He did all that while hauling in four catches for 105 yards and two scores on the offensive side of the ball.

DB Jevon Pruitt, Sr., DePauw
Pruitt intercepted two passes for the second consecutive week, and broke up another pass in a 38-7 win over Centre. He also had four solo tackles.

Special teams

ST Rod Hill, Sr., Greensboro
Hill scored two touchdowns on special teams. He scored the second half’s opening kickoff 60 yards for a score, and then on the next series, recovered a blocked punt in the end zone for another touchdown. Hill also had an interception return for 15 yards.

P Kurtis Brondyke, Fr., Central
Brondyke was instrumental in Central holding off Luther 44-36. He had three punts downed inside the 5-yard line, including two that were downed inside the 1-yard line. None of his eight punts were returned for positive yardage, with Luther finishing with minus-17 punt return yards for the day.

K Scott Birkhofer, Jr., Linfield
Birkhofer made field goals from 46 and 51 yards in a 52-42 win over Hardin-Simmons. His 51-yarder set a school record that had lasted for 22 years.

RET Larry Beavers, Jr., Wesley
Beavers returned the opening kickoff of the second half 89 yards to break a 17-17 halftime tie and propel the Wolverines to a 31-17 victory. He accounted for 225 all-purpose yards, also scoring on a 79-yard TD catch.
