Offense
QB Mitch Tanney, Sr., Monmouth
Tanney led the Fighting Scots with a 21-for-23 passing performance for 405 yards and five touchdowns as they rolled to their seventh straight Bronze Turkey Game victory, defeating Knox 48-0. Tanney tied the NCAA Division III record for completion percentage in a game at 91.3.
OL Jon Matthews, Andrew Parker, Kendall Wallace, Corey Haase, Ian Kirwan, Guilford
In a 49-42 win against Catholic, the Quakers offense had 73 passing attempts which led to 606 passing yards. Catholic came into the contest averaging an ODAC-best 3.3 sacks a game, but the Quaker offensive line allowed none.
RB Andy Moriarty, So., UW-Oshkosh
Moriarty rushed a Division III-record 59 times for a school-record 316 yards. He scored three touchdowns and a two-point conversion in UW-Oshkosh's 24-18 overtime win over UW-Eau Claire. Moriarty, who carried the football on 21 consecutive UW-Oshkosh offensive plays, scored the game-winning touchdown in overtime on a three-yard burst. He finished the game with 379 all-purpose yards.
RB Winston Young, Jr., Bridgewater (Va.)
Young scored five touchdowns in the Eagles 53-20 victory over Randolph-Macon. He scored on runs of 30, 1, 13 and 67 yards and caught a 3-yard touchdown pass. Young carried 17 times for 198 yards, an average of 11.6 yards per carry. He finished the game with 220 all-purpose yards. He also blocked a punt for the second week in a row, as it rolled out of the end zone for a safety.
WR Chris Barnette, Jr., Guilford
Barnette tied an Old Dominion Athletic Conference record with 17 receptions for 233 yards and a career-best three touchdowns in Guilford's 49-42 win over Catholic. Barnette was also on the receiving end of a two-point conversion.
WR P.J. Theisen, Jr., St. Thomas
Theisen pulled in 12 catches for 224 yards in the Tommies' 35-13 win over Hamline. His four receiving touchdowns were 74, 25, 6, and 31 yards.
WR Don Marshall, Jr., Delaware Valley
Marshall hauled in a school record 251 receiving yards in the Aggies 58-27 win over Juniata. Two of Marshall's 10 receptions went for touchdowns, with an 89-yard reception on the Aggies second offensive possession setting up a one-yard touchdown run by teammate Rob Snyder.
Defense
DL Mike Sirignano, Jr., Bridgewater State
Sirignano led the Bridgewater State defensive effort that did not allow an offensive touchdown in the Bears’ 42-6 Cranberry Bowl victory over Mass. Maritime Academy. He registered 11 tackles (eight solo), two sacks, and three tackles for loss, and also recovered a fumble and blocked an extra point.
DL Brant McAdams, Sr., Trinity (Texas)
McAdams led the team in tackles with 10 (eight solo) from his defensive end spot, helping the Tigers hold Sewanee to just 127 yards of total offense. McAdams also had three of the team's six total sacks.
DL Dan Robinson, Jr., UW-Stevens Point
Robinson helped hold UW-Platteville to 31 rushing yards on 27 carries. He recorded seven tackles (five solo) and three sacks for a loss of 18 yards. He added two forced fumbles in the 31-3 victory over UW-Platteville.
DL Colby Townsend, Jr., Maryville (Tenn.)
Townsend had eight tackles (six solo), three sacks and one forced fumble in the Scots 36-13 win over Shenandoah. His forced fumble was picked up by teammate Andrew Hodge and run back for a 21-yard touchdown.
LB Ross Salovitch, So., Husson
In a 46-13 win against Becker, Salovitch tallied 15 tackles (12 solo), one tackle for loss, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
LB Jake Meserve, Sr., Plymouth State
On Plymouth State's Senior Day, Meserve recorded 10 tackles (seven solo), two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and one interception. His first fumble recovery set up a PSU touchdown, while his interception sealed the win for PSU late in the 4th quarter.
LB Mike Matson, Jr., Augsburg
Matson recorded a career-high 28 tackles in Augsburg's 17-14 loss to Bethel at the Metrodome on Friday. He also had a key forced fumble in the closing minutes, stopping a potential Bethel scoring rush at the Augsburg 1-yard line with 2:31 left. This is the third week in the last four that Matson has tallied 22 or more tackles.
DB Nigel Richard, So., Beloit
Aside from his two interceptions and four tackles (three solo), Richard caught one pass in the game, a 49-yard go-ahead touchdown pass with 1:09 remaining in the game to give the Bucs the eventual 27-23 victory. Beloit cameback from a 23-6 deficit in the fourth quarter.
DB Joel Steinmetz, Jr., Mount St. Joseph
Steinmetz had a solid all-around game, picking off three Anderson passes, along with a recovering a fumble, as the Lions held Anderson to only 76 yards in the air in a 17-7 HCAC title clinching win on the road.
DB Harold Green, Fr., William Paterson
Green recorded a career-high eight tackles (six solo) and picked off a pass to diffuse a fourth-quarter drive as William Paterson proceeded to come back and defeat then-No. 4 Rowan, 20-19, Saturday for its first victory over the Profs since 1994. The rookie finished with six solo stops for a defense that forced five turnovers.
DB Rob Weinstein, Jr., UW-Stout
Weinstein intercepted a pass at the Stout 42-yard line on UW-Whitewater's first drive and returned it 18 yards which UW-Stout would later convert into a field goal. He led a defense that held the then-No. 6 offense in the country scoreless in the game's first 26 minutes. Weinstein finished with 23 tackles (10 solo).
Special teams
K Jeremy Seeton, Sr., East Texas Baptist
Seeton drilled a team- and American Southwest Conference-record 61-yard field goal on the final play of the first half of Saturday's 29-28 win against Mississippi College. The kick was one yard shy of tying the Division III record of 62 set in 1976 by Rowan's Dom Antonini.
P Brant VerMeer, Jr., Central
Four of VerMeer's six punts landed inside the 20-yard line, including one that was downed at the 4-yard line. Helped Central give Wartburg poor field position much of the day, allowing the Dutch to be outgained by 169 yards on the day, yet win 37-20.
RET Bo Tkach, Jr., Wilkes
Tkach returned two punts for 104 yards and a kickoff for 57 yards in the Colonels 59-38 win at Susquehanna. He had a 40-yard punt return and a 64-yard return for a touchdown. His kickoff return set up a second-quarter touchdown.
