Offense
QB Bryan Gnyp, Jr., Kalamazoo
Gnyp set three school records in a 42-41 loss at Hope on Saturday: most touchdown passes in a game (5), most passing yards in a game (437), and most yards total offense in a game (464). He was 29-for-44 with one interception and also ran for 27 yards.
OL Reggie King, Jr.; James Hoxworth, Jr.; Danny Paul, So.; Chris Dubos, Jr.; and Brian Dini, So.; Wheaton
Facing a No. 18 Millikin squad that came into the game ninth in Division III against the run, at 66 yards per game, the Thunder offensive line helped six ball carriers run for 249 net yards and pass for 291 more with one sack in 28 attempts. Wheaton was a 39-20 winner.
RB Jeremy Boyce, Sr., Trinity (Texas)
Boyce had 267 all-purpose yards, running 23 times for 198 yards and a score and catching four passes for 69 yards.
RB Trevor Cooper, So., Muskingum
Cooper rushed for a career-high 243 yards on 29 carries to lead Muskingum past Wilmington. Cooper's 200 yards on the ground was a first for a Muskie player since 1997.
WR Lewis Howes, So., Principia
Howes caught 17 passes for 418 yards and four touchdowns against Martin Luther. With his performance, Howes set the NCAA all-divisions record for receiving yards in a game.
WR Mark Bartosic, Jr., Susquehanna
Bartosic broke the school game records for catches (15), yards (261) and touchdowns (five) in the Crusaders' 52-35 loss at Widener. He hauled in passes of 61, 47, 39, 6 and 4 yards, scoring in each quarter along the way. Bartosic single-handedly tried to rally the Crsuaders from a 45-15 third-quarter deficit, making eight catches for 75 yards and two touchdowns in the fourth quarter alone. His 261 yards receiving are the third-highest total in Division III this season.
TE Matt Moskosky, So., Hardin-Simmons
Moskosky caught 10 passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns in a 51-48 loss to Howard Payne.
Defense
DL Andrew Porter, Sr., Macalester
Porter finished with 13 tackles (six solo) and registered four sacks and four more tackles for loss. He has 36 career sacks and 65 tackles for loss.
DL Ricky Vesce, So., William Paterson
Vesce recorded a career-high 11 tackles (six solo), forcing and recovering a fumble and adding half a sack against New Jersey. He leads the Pioneers in tackles (33) and fumbles forced (2).
DL D'Andre Wilson, Sr., Howard Payne
In a game where the defenses didn't have a whole lot of success, Wilson recorded a key sack of Hardin-Simmons quarterback Dustin Proctor with under a minute to play on fourth down to seal the 51-48 upset. He finished with six total tackles, three for loss and the one sack.
DL Pat Smith, Sr., Dickinson
Smith led the Red Devil defense as they held F&M to 69 yards rushing and 157 passing in a 14-7 win. Smith's final sack came on the Diplomats' last possession as he caught Dave Makson on third-and-10 with under two minutes remaining. He finished with eight total tackles (six solo), four for loss and three sacks.
LB Matt Jackson, Jr., Rose-Hulman
Jackson recorded a career-high 15 tackles (11 solo) in Rose-Hulman’s 35-28 victory against Rhodes. Jackson had three tackles for loss and added one pass deflection and one quarterback hurry in the win.
LB Wes Kidd, Jr., Guilford
Kidd led the Quakers' defense in a 24-14 win at Ferrum with nine tackles, including five solo stops. He also made a tackle for loss.
LB Mike Gancarz, Sr., Albright
Gancarz recorded three tackles for loss including two sacks to lead the Albright defense. Albright held Lebanon Valley to 19 yards on the ground and 211 total on the day in a 48-7 win.
DB Eric Eickhorst, Sr., FDU-Florham
Eickhorst made the interception that stopped the Warriors' overtime drive when it was just two plays old, as FDU beat Lycoming 34-28 in overtime. That set up the winning touchdown on FDU’s ensuing possession. Eickhorst also made an interception at the start of the second quarter, picking off a pass at the FDU 15 yard line on a Lycoming first down play. He led the Devils in tackles with eight (five solo) and was also 4-for-4 on PATs.
DB Kyle Hausler, Fr., Capital
Hausler set a school-record with four interceptions in Capital's 35-3 win against cross-town rival Otterbein and added seven tackles (five solo), one for loss.
DB Eric Moe, Sr., UW-Stout
Moe recorded three interceptions with 34-yard touchdown return and a total of 56 yards in returns. Moe made his school career-record-setting interception at the 5:31 mark of the second period, picking off a Nick Wara pass at the 50-yard line and returning it 22 yards to set up Stout's second TD of the day. Moe got his second interception just before halftime on the Stout 4, stopping an Oshkosh drive. Moe capped off his day with a 34-yard interception TD return with 2:08 remaining in the game.
DB Danny Ackil, Jr., Wesleyan
Ackil scored the game's first touchdown on a 16-yard interception return on the game's third play from scrimmage in a 20-17 win against Bates. Ackil added another interception, five tackles and two pass breakups.
Special teams
K Mark Server, Fr., Wabash
Server hit a 27-yard field goal in overtime to give Wabash a 46-43 victory over previously No. 4 Wittenberg. Server was a perfect 5-for-5 on extra point attempts, as well.
P John Wheaton, Fr., Frostburg State
Wheaton helped Frostburg State win the battle of field position, punting five times for an average of 35.4 yards and pinning three kicks inside the Wesley 5 (4, 4, 2). With FSU holding a 23-6 lead in the early moments of the fourth quarter, Wheaton recovered a bad punt snap 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage and, with several Wolverine players giving chase, booted the ball 28 yards to help FSU avoid possible disaster.
RET Cedric Simmons, Sr., Concordia (Wis.)
Simmons returned six punts for 83 yards and a touchdown, as well as running 16 times for 123 yards and a score and catching a touchdown pass in a 29-7 win against Lakeland.
