The victory marked the third win in the past five years over the Yellow Jackets to open Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.

The Wasps boast a 5-0 mark to start the season for the first time since 1998 when they went undefeated. With the win, Head Coach Curt Newsome becomes the first coach since W.S. "Pedie" Jackson went 9-0 in 1927 to win his first five games as E&H mentor.

FERRUM, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Football Team (1-0) accumulated 552 yards of total offense in its 42-12 rout of Ferrum College (0-1) Saturday afternoon at W.B. Adams Stadium. The game was delayed by 90 minutes in the middle of the first quarter due to lightning.
