SALISBURY, Md. – Senior Dante Casciola (Charlotte, N.C./Weddington) threw for 228 yards and two scores as No. 15 Randolph-Macon dropped a 35-14 decision at No. 3 Salisbury in the third round of the NCAA Championship.

How it Happened:
- The Sea Gulls won the toss and chose to receive. They picked up one first down and moved to the SU 42, where junior Brandon Watson (York, Pa./Central York) forced a fumble and senior Jackson Deaver (Fayetteville, N.C./Terry Sanford) recovered on the SU 43. The Yellow Jackets were unable to pick up a first down and turned the ball over on downs at the SU 36.
- SU drove into RMC territory, where senior Owen Arruza (Ashland, Va./Patrick Henry) recovered an errant pitch at the RMC 49. The Yellow Jackets were forced to punt on the ensuing possession.
- Late in the first period, the Sea Gulls drove to the RMC 29 but were stopped on downs. RMC moved the ball to the SU 8, but Casciola was sacked on fourth down.
- SU went 85 yards in six plays to record the game's first touchdown with 8:42 left in the second quarter.
- The Sea Gulls added a score later in the period to take a 14-0 advantage at intermission.
- RMC was forced to punt on its first possession of the third quarter and SU put together a 64-yard scoring drive to extend the lead to 21-0 six minutes into the third period. The Sea Gulls added a TD late in the quarter to go up 28-0.
- Casciola hit senior Holden Hodge (Elizabeth City, N.C./Northeastern) with a 17-yard touchdown pass early in the fourth period to make it 28-7.
- Junior Cullen Martin (Moore, N.C./Pinecrest) caught an eight-yard scoring toss from Casciola with 2:47 remaining as the score moved to 28-14.
- After recovering an onside kick, SU added another TD to make the final 35-14.
By The Numbers:
- Casciola completed 22 of 40 passes, both season highs, for 228 yards and two scores.
- Sophomore Basit Qadri (Ashburn, Va./Rock Ridge) paced the Yellow Jackets with eight catches for 110 yards, both career highs.
- Watson paced the RMC defense with eight tackles, six solo stops, one tackle for loss and one forced fumble. Arruza and senior Daniel Eliasek (Midlothian, Va./Trinity) both had six tackles. Arruza had one quarterback sack for a loss of eight yards.
For The Record:
- RMC was one of four programs to reach the Round of 16 in each of the past three seasons, joining Mount Union, North Central and Wartburg.
- The Yellow Jackets had their 11-game road winning streak snapped. RMC has won 21 straight road games during the regular season.
- Senior Kyle Ihle (Apex, N.C./Middle Creek) kicked two extra points to finish his career with 183, a program and ODAC record.
- Senior Kwesi Clarke (Wilmington, N.C./North Brunswick) finished with 2,321 career rushing yards, the ninth-highest total in program history.
