Today's Contest
Today is the ninth and final regular season game of the 2024 season and the ninth Ohio Athletic Conference game for the Baldwin Wallace University football team as it travels to Tiffin to take on Heidelberg University. The Yellow Jackets defeated Ohio Northern University by a final score of 27-26 last Saturday on Seniors' Day and in its home finale. Heidelberg defeated Wilmington College by a final score of 30-20 in Wilmington last Saturday.
The Series
BW has faced Heidelberg more times on the gridiron than any other opponent as the teams have played 76 games. The Yellow Jackets hold a 52-24 all-time series lead. The series began in 1897 when BW won by a final score of 10-0 in Berea.
BW Head Coach Jim Hilvert
Hilvert is in his eighth season at BW and has a record of 48-23 and Ohio Athletic Conference slate of 42-21. He is 115-49 in his 16th overall season. Hilvert is 6-0 all-time versus Heidelberg.
Heidelberg Head Coach Scott Donaldson
Donaldson is in his ninth season at Heidelberg and has an overall record of 47-26 and an OAC mark of 41-25. He is 1-6 vs. Baldwin Wallace as the Yellow Jackets and Student Princes did not play in the COVID-19 shortened season of 2021 spring.

Scouting the Yellow Jackets
In week nine of the season, BW scored 27 points on 183 yards passing and 105 yards rushing for 288 total yards. Ohio Northern scored 26 points on 282 yards rushing and 36 yards passing for 318 total yards. The Yellow Jackets intercepted the Polar Bears go ahead two-point conversion with 1:02 remaining to secure the victory.

Offensively, sophomore quarterback Charlie Bubonics (Solon) has completed 195-of-267 passes for an OAC third best 1,972 yards. Bubonics is second in the league with 23 touchdowns and is third in the conference with a .730 completion percentage. Sophomore running back George Linberger (Barberton/St. Vincent-St. Mary) leads the ground game with 409 yards on 102 carries with three touchdowns. Senior Vinny Lomeo (East Amherst, N.Y./St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute) leads the team with an OAC fourth best and career-high 40 catches for a career-best 428 yards with a career-high two touchdowns. Junior wide out Tim Conwell (Avon) leads the team and is tied for third in the league with a career-high eight touchdowns. Conwell has caught a career-best 36 passes for a career-high 463 yards. Defensively, junior linebacker Dom Tromba (Painesville/Riverside leads the team with a career-high 53 tackles.
Scouting the Student Princes
In week of the nine of the season, Heidelberg scored 30 points on 221 yards rushing and 190 yards passing for 411 total yards. Wilmington scored 20 points on 150 yards passing and 59 yards rushing for 209 total yards.
Heidelberg Leaders
Offensively, junior quarterback Alex Arledge has completed 72-of-124 passes for 774 yards with five touchdowns. Sophomore running back Drew Miller has rushed for an OAC fourth best 665 yards on 176 carries. Miller is tied for seventh in the league with seven touchdowns. Senior wide receiver Ithan Cholewa has caught 38 passes for 495 yards with four touchdowns. Defensively, junior linebacker Trey Farris leads the team with 54 stops.
Opendorse Bowl Series
The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, North Coast Athletic Conference, Ohio Athletic Conference, and Presidents' Athletic Conference will face-off in the inaugural Opendorse Bowl Series. The four conferences will each be represented by their highest-ranked team to not make the NCAA Playoffs in a one-day, two-game series at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium at Hall of Fame Village.
