MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Berry dominated the Majors on senior day at Valhalla, boosting the Vikings' record to 7-2 and keeping them in strong contention in the SAA standings.
The Vikings set the tone early with a methodical, 8-play, 70-yard drive capped off by a 15-yard touchdown pass from Christian Lewis to Khamari Smith, giving Berry an early 7-0 lead.
Berry's offense continued to click in the second quarter, with Brayden Hardy punching in a 3-yard rushing touchdown to extend the lead to 13-0. Berry's special teams and defense also got in on the action, as Brycen Williams returned a blocked punt 15 yards for another touchdown, adding to the Vikings' commanding lead.
On the defensive side, Berry consistently pressured the Majors, recording four sacks and limiting them to only 170 total yards. Nick Palmer and Dawson Livingston led the charge with impactful plays in the backfield, while Millsaps managed only 29 rushing yards on 25 attempts. Millsaps' lone score came in the fourth quarter on a 14-yard touchdown pass, but Berry responded with a final 2-yard touchdown rush by Jax Ulbrich, capping the victory.
Christian Lewis finished with 169 passing yards and two touchdowns, with Khamari Smith as his top target, recording 47 yards and two touchdowns. Kicker Miles Hamby added two field goals, keeping the Vikings comfortably ahead throughout the second half.
This game caps a great Valhalla moment for the 25 Viking football seniors who were honored today before the game.
Berry is back in action next Saturday at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee.
