PLATTEVILLE, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh football team struggled to get going offensively as they fell to UW-Platteville 22-7 on Saturday (Nov. 4) at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

The loss brought the Titans (5-4, 3-3 WIAC) all-time record against the Pioneers (5-4, 3-3 WIAC) to 54-49-4 and snapped a nine-game winning streak.

Oshkosh and Platteville finished the matchup close in rushing yards (202 to 221), first downs (17 to 18) and third down efficiency (25 percent to 28 percent), but the Pioneers converted three of their four fourth-down conversions against the Titans' one of four. Oshkosh also forced seven punts and registered 124 total return yards.

Kobe Berghammer (Sr. • Clayton) completed 19 of his 40 passing attempts for 202 yards, adding 39 rushing yards and his fourth touchdown of the season on the ground. He also threw three interceptions.

Jon Mathieu (So. • Sheboygan Falls) led Oshkosh with seven receptions for 66 yards followed by Trae Tetzlaff (Jr. • Waukesha) with five catches for 45 yards.

Defensively, the Titans were led by Kyle Dietzen (So. • Omro) who had 10 tackles and Tijs Santiago (Sr. • Monona) who added nine. They each had one tackle-for-loss.

The Titans fell behind 16-0 at halftime after a 38-yard touchdown pass from Garrett Stare to Michael Priami, an interception returned for a touchdown, and a field goal.

Stare scored again on an eight-yard rushing touchdown on the Pioneers' first drive of the second half to make the score 22-0.

Oshkosh scored quickly on its next possession with a four-yard rushing touchdown from Berghammer, but was unable to find the end zone again in Platteville's 22-7 victory.

The Titans will host River Falls next Saturday (Nov. 11) at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium, opening kickoff is set for 1:05 p.m.
