The Game
«  Johns Hopkins (8-0, 4-0 CC) hits the road for the final time in the regular season as the Blue Jays head north to Dickinson (6-2, 3-1 CC).  Kickoff is set for 1 pm at Dickinson's Biddle Field - it will be Homecoming at Dickinson this weekend.

A Look Back
«  Johns Hopkins improved to 8-0 overall and 4-0 in the Centennial Conference with a dramatic 34-28 win at then #16/#21 Muhlenberg last Saturday.  The Blue Jays had a field goal attempt on the final play of regulation blocked, but Will Leger returned the block 14 yards for a touchdown as time expired.
« Dickinson kept its hopes for at least a share of the Centennial title alive with a 28-25 win at Gettysburg last Saturday.

The Facts
«  This is the 138th season of Johns Hopkins football.  JHU first fielded a team in 1882.
«  Johns Hopkins enters this week's game with an all-time record of 592-489-57 (.545).
«  Overall, JHU owns 15 Centennial Conference titles (all won since 2002) and has qualified for the NCAA Playoffs 11 times (all since 2005).

« Johns Hopkins is ranked eighth in this week's AFCA Coaches Poll and eighth in this week's D3football.com Poll.
« The AFCA Poll debuted for the 2023 season on September 18 and the Blue Jays have been ranked in the top 10 in all seven polls.
« The D3football.com Poll for 2023 started with a preseason poll; JHU has been ranked in the top 20 in all 10 polls and in the top 10 in each of the last six.
« This week's #8 ranking marks the 55th time that Johns Hopkins has appeared in the AFCA's top 10; 54 of the 55 have come since 2011.

8-0 ... Again
«  Johns Hopkins improved to 8-0 with last week's 34-28 win at Muhlenberg.  This marks Johns Hopkins' seventh all-time 8-0 start - all seven instances that the Blue Jays have started a season at 8-0 have occurred since 2011 (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2023).
« A win this week would give the Blue Jays their sixth all-time 9-0 start.  The previous five seasons in which JHU has started 9-0 have all come since 2011 (2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016).

The Race for the Boot
«  The race for the 2023 Centennial Conference title - and possession of the championship "boot" - heads into the final two weeks of the regular season.
« Four teams remain alive to grab at least a share of the title and three have a path to the Centennial's automatic bid to the upcoming NCAA Playoffs.
« Below is a look at where those four teams stand entering this week's action:

Johns Hopkins (8-0, 4-0 CC)
« Grabs no worse than a share of the CC title and earns the CC's automatic bid to NCAA Playoffs with a win at Dickinson.
« Grabs outright CC title with a win at Dickinson and a Muhlenberg loss to F&M this week.
« Grabs outright CC title with two wins regardless of results of any other games.

Muhlenberg (7-1, 4-1 CC)
« Wins a share of the CC title with a win against F&M and at least one loss by Johns Hopkins.
« Grabs outright CC title and automatic bid to NCAA Playoffs with a win against F&M and two losses by Johns Hopkins.

Dickinson (6-2, 3-1 CC)
« Earns outright CC title and automatic bid to NCAA Playoffs with two wins, two Johns Hopkins losses and an F&M win against Muhlenberg.
« Earns a share of the title with wins in its final two games.

Franklin & Marshall (6-2, 2-2 CC)
« Earns a share of the CC title with two wins, two Johns Hopkins losses and an Ursinus win over Dickinson.
« There does not appear to be a path to the CC's automatic bid to the playoffs for the Diplomats.

November Reign
«  Entering this week's game against Dickinson, Johns Hopkins is 44-5 in regular season games played in the month of November this century, including 25-2 since 2010.
«  Including last year's win at Dickinson, the Blue Jays are 15-2 in their last 17 regular season road games in the month of November dating back to 2007.
«  JHU has not lost a regular season home game in the month of November since 2007.  The Blue Jays have won 16 consecutive regular season home games in November since that loss to F&M in 2007.
« In this century, Johns Hopkins is 23-2 in regular season home games in the month of November.

Road Warriors
« Under the guidance of head coach Greg Chimera, the Blue Jays are now 19-4 on the road after topping Muhlenberg in their last road game.
« The Blue Jays are 12-3 in Centennial Conference road games under Chimera's direction.
« Dating back to 2013, JHU is 48-9 overall on the road (44-5 in the regular season).

11 Straight
«  Dating back to last season, Johns Hopkins has won 11 consecutive games as the Blue Jays won their final three games of the 2022 season and have won eight straight to open the '23 season.
« This is the ninth time JHU has had a winning streak of 10+ games - every Johns Hopkins winning streak of 10+ games has taken place since the start of the 2002 season.
« The 11-game winning streak marks the sixth 11-game run in program history and only once have the Blue Jays won more than 11 games in a row.  Hopkins had a 15-game winning streak from midway through the 2010 season through the end of the 2011 regular season.

A Tough Stretch
«  This week's game at Dickinson is the fourth in a four-game stretch for Johns Hopkins against teams (F&M-Ursinus-Muhlenberg-Dickinson) that are currently a combined 24-8 on the year.
