BW Football Streaks Past Comets on Parents’ and Family Day, Wins Third Straight Game

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University football team won its third straight game as it defeated Capital University in an Ohio Athletic Conference and Parents' and Family Day game by a final score of 59-35 on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium.

BW (5-3, 5-2 OAC) improves to 42-12 in the all-time series with Capital (1-7, 1-6 OAC).  The Yellow Jackets have now won the last six contests and 10 of the last 11 meetings.

Offensively for BW, senior quarterback Joey Marousek (North Royalton) completed 16-of-24 passes for 210 yards with two touchdowns.  Junior running back Victor Ford, Jr. (Cleveland/Shaker Heights) rushed for a career-high 128 yards on 13 carries with two touchdowns.  Senior wide receiver Darius Stokes (Canton/GlenOak) caught three passes for 56 yards with one touchdown.  Defensively, Stokes, who also started at corner back, recorded eight tackles. 

Offensively for the Comets, senior quarterback Ben Everson completed 18-of-37 passes for 296 yards with three touchdowns.  Sophomore running back Albree Grose rushed for 77 yards on 10 carries with one touchdown.  Sophomore wide receiver Nate Younker caught 10 passes for a game-high 155 yards with a game-high three touchdowns.  Defensively, senior linebacker James Curtis tallied a game-high 15 tackles.
