Berghammer Leads Titans To Homecoming Victory Over Pointers

OSHKOSH, Wis.- Kobe Berghammer threw eight touchdown passes and broke two records as he led the UW-Oshkosh football team to a homecoming victory over UW-Stevens Point on Saturday (Oct. 28) at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

The Titans (5-3, 3-2 WIAC) beat the Pointers (1-7, 0-5 WIAC) 66-28 in their 120th matchup. Oshkosh defeated Stevens Point for the fourth consecutive time during the 98th UW-Oshkosh homecoming.

Berghammer (Sr. • Clayton) broke the UW-Oshkosh single-game passing touchdown record with eight Saturday and currently holds the career passing touchdown record at 95. The last Titan to hold the record, Brett Kasper, was the honorary captain of Saturday's game.

Clayton Schwalbe (So. • Waukesha) scored a career high three touchdowns on five receptions for 55 yards. Trae Tetzlaff (Jr. • Waukesha) caught five passes for 97 yards and a touchdown.

Nolan Mobley (So. • Oak Creek) had a big day as well, reaching 106 career points.  He went  9-of-9 on extra points and added a 27-yard field goal.

In the first quarter, Berghammer threw three touchdown passes to Schwalbe, Tetzlaff and Jon Mathieu (So. • Sheboygan Falls) to give the Titans a 21-0 lead.

Noah Alford (Jr. • Oshkosh) scored the first touchdown of the second quarter with a 13-yard touchdown reception, followed by an 11-yard Londyn Little (So. • Columbia, Ill.) catch with 11 seconds remaining to give the Titans a 35-14 halftime lead.

Oshkosh scored first in the second half on a 13-yard connection from Berghammer to Dan Fynaardt (Jr. • Waukesha). The Titans scored two more times in the third quarter on a 27-yard field goal from Mobley and a three-yard touchdown pass to Schwalbe.

Berghammer threw his eighth and final touchdown of the day in the fourth quarter on a seven-yard pass to Schwalbe. Justice Lovelace (Fr. • Kenosha) scored the first touchdown of his career to end the day for the Titans on a 10-yard run and give the Titans a 66-28 victory.

The Titans will return to action on the road against UW-Platteville on Saturday (Nov. 4) at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
