BW Football Wins First Road Game of Season, Cages Polar Bears

ADA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University football team defeated Ohio Northern University in its first Ohio Athletic Conference road game by a final score of 31-21 inside Dial-Roberson Stadium.

BW (2-2, 2-1 OAC) improved to 33-14-1 in the all-time series.  Ohio Northern (2-3, 1-2 OAC) has now lost the last two contests and 10 of the last 15 meetings.

Offensively for the Yellow Jackets, senior quarterback Joey Marousek (North Royalton) completed 15-of-22 passes for 132 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions for the third straight week. Sophomore running back George Linberger (Barberton/St. Vincent-St. Mary) rushed for a game-high and career-high 132 yards on 22 carries with one touchdown.  Sophomore wide receiver Connor Awad (Grafton/Midview) caught three passes for 44 yards with his first career touchdown.  Defensively, senior All-OAC linebacker Mason Levasseur (Panama City, Fla./South Walton) tallied 11 tackles while sophomore linebacker Dom Tromba (Painesville/Riverside) added nine stops. 

Offensively for the Polar Bears, junior quarterback Brennon Norris completed 20-of-31 passes for 203 yards with one touchdown and one interception.  Freshman running back Seth Borondy rushed for 67 yards on 15 carries with one touchdown.  Senior wide receiver L.J. Payton caught five passes for 70 yards with one touchdown. Defensively, junior All-OAC defensive back Dalton Tjong had a game-high 12 tackles.

  • 9:37     Payton 40-yard pass from Norris (Elliott kick is good)

BW is back in action on Saturday, September 30 when it returns home to host an OAC and Homecoming game against Marietta College on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium at 2 p.m.
