INDIANAPOLIS -- Vann Hunt, Allegheny College's defensive coordinator and linebackers coach, has been selected to participate in the 2023 NCAA and NFL Coaches Academy from February 22-24 at the NCAA offices in Indianapolis.

The academy is an educational experience provided to current, full-time football coaches at NCAA institutions from all three divisions in conjunction with the NFL. In addition to coaching strategies, the three-day event covers various topics such as budget management, effective communication, leadership development, and networking opportunities.

"I am very excited to be selected for this prestigious opportunity," said Hunt, who joined the Gators' coaching staff in 2017. "I am looking forward to a great learning experience that will allow me to continue to work on my skills and grow as a coach while being surrounded by some of the best coaches in the country."

Last year's NCAA and NFL Coaches Academy brought nearly 40 college football coaches together to hear from the likes of Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard and Baylor University head football coach Dave Aranda, with sessions moderated by former NFL quarterback Chad Pennington and the NFL's vice president of wellness and clinical services, Nyaka NiiLampti.

A former All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) running back as a student-athlete at Wabash College, Hunt completed his sixth season on the Allegheny sidelines this fall. In AC's first season back in the Presidents' Athletic Conference, Hunt helped mentor two All-PAC honorees on the defensive side of the ball in defensive lineman Chris Rubino (Monaca, Pa./The Kiski School) and safety David Babb (Pembroke Pines, Fla./Chaminade Madonna). Both Rubino and Babb were also named to the D3football.com Team of the Week during the 2022 campaign.
