Beavers Knock-off Spartans in Quintuple Overtime

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Spartans hosted the Bluffton Beavers during Homecoming in Spartan Stadium. The Black and Gold were edged out by the Beavers in quadruple overtime 46-44.  

In a closely matched game, the Beavers' quarterback Bobby Bourke put up 142 yards no the day, with three touchdowns. Kainan Stoner led Bluffton with 118 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the day. Andre Price Jr., Ethan Beringer, and Joseph Taviano each had one receiving touchdown and totaled 94 receiving yards for Bluffton. The Beavers picked up their first win of the season and first conference win on Saturday to improve to 1-6,1-3 HCAC.  

Eric James (Indianapolis, Ind., Decatur Central) led the Black and Gold with 220 passing yards and two touchdowns. David Smith (Indianapolis, Ind., North Central) put up 144 rushing yards for the Spartans, with 1 rushing touchdown on the day. Lavar Lesure (Mt. Vernon, Ill., Wheeler) had 82 receiving yards and one touchdown for MU. With the loss, Manchester is now 1-6,0-4 HCAC.  

Manchester will host the Franklin College Grizzlies on Saturday, Oct. 29 in Spartan Stadium before concluding their regular season on the road at rival Anderson University during the Bronze Ball game on November 5th.
