ITHACA, N.Y. – The Associated Press released its Division III Football All-Americans on December 15 and Jake Villanueva, a senior offensive lineman for Ithaca College, was voted to the second team. The AP is the second of three outlets to release All-America teams for the 2022 season, as the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) already revealed its selections and D3football.com will announce its teams over the next few days.

Villanueva, who is a now a two-time AP All-American, becomes the 153rd all-time All-American selection for the Bombers. He was a second-team selection last season as well.

The Hatboro, Pa. native, who played in 42 of 45 games during his career, is the first player for IC to earn back-to-back All-America praise since Jason Chier in 2007 and 2008 and the first to be honored by the Associated Press in consecutive seasons since Deagan Gray in 1987 and 1988.

Villanueva made 12 starts this season during a historic run for Ithaca this fall, which concluded with a 12-1 record and a trip the NCAA Division III Quarterfinals. The Bombers averaged 37.2 points per game and 191.7 yards rushing per contest. The 6-foot, 4-inch, 315-pound guard played a crucial role in the offense's success this year, as the group also allowed just six sacks all season.

Over his final three years as a starter, Villanueva blocked for an offensive unit that averaged more than 30 points each season.

The Bombers went 36-9 with Villanueva on the offensive line since 2018.
