Dion Bryant Rushes For Fourth Touchdown Against Delaware Valley

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Dion Bryant found a hole and shrugged off a couple of defenders for an eight-yard touchdown run against nationally-ranked Delaware Valley University on Saturday afternoon in front of an enormous Homecoming crowd.
 
DVU (7-0, 5-0 Middle Atlantic Conference) won 34-10 behind a strong running game. The Dutchmen (4-3, 4-1 MAC) scored the most points the highly-ranked Aggie defense has given up all year. Delaware Valley entered the game ranked 10th in the AFCA Poll and 16th in the D3football.com Poll.
 
The Aggies got off to a fast start scoring on a 44-yard quarterback scramble on the first drive of the game. LVC came right back and took nine minutes off the clock driving the ball 64 yards down the field on 17 plays ending with a 24-yard field goal by Devin Crone. DVU drove down the field scoring a rushing touchdown to take a 14-3 lead that they held until halftime.
 
Delaware Valley added to their lead in the third quarter with their third rushing touchdown of the game. The Dutchmen drove the ball 75 yards in seven plays and cut the lead to 21-10 on Bryant's touchdown run with 4:32 left to play in the quarter. The Aggies had a 75-yard touchdown run and a 61-yard touchdown pass for their final two scores.
 
Inside the Box Score

  • Logan Grauer blocked a kick for the second straight game as he came around the outside and batted down DVU's final extra point attempt.
  • Brody Robinson was a force defensively with six tackles. He had 2.5 tackles for a loss including 1.5 sacks.
  • Brent Moody had a 13-yard interception return in the third quarter.
  • Bryant finished with 47 yards rushing on 11 carries.
  • The Dutchmen were able to move the ball on the Aggies recording 23 first downs to just 17 for DVU. The 23 first downs are the most Delaware Valley has allowed this season.
  • LVC won the time of possession 36:00 to 24:00.
  • LVC totaled 296 yards of total offense on 158 passing yards and 138 rushing yards. The Dutchmen are the first team to record over 100 rushing yards in a game against Delaware Valley this year and recorded the most total yards the Aggie defense has given up.

Up Next
The Dutchmen will make their final road trip of the season next week with a trip up I-81 to Wilkes-Barre where they will face King's College. Kickoff at Betzler Field is scheduled for 12 p.m. next Saturday.
