The Benedictine University football team scored 55 unanswered points and eased to a 58-10 win on the road at Eureka to move to 4-0 on the year.
A slow start allowed the hosts to kick a field goal near the end of the first to take their lone lead of the contest before the big-play offense took over. Benedictine moved 75 yards on nine plays over just 2:48 to take the lead on a 19-yard touchdown grab by Nick Shelton. Benedictine added three more touchdowns in the quarter, another to Shelton and two to Deandre Holliday to open a 27-3 lead at halftime.
Holliday reeled in two more touchdowns in the third to cap a big day, including a 78-yard score. Holliday finished with seven catches for 181 yards and four touchdowns. Tyler Jarnagin threw for 351 yards and six touchdowns while adding 73 on the ground including a 63-yard scamper.
The defense held Eureka to just 281 yards. Sergio Ayala recorded a team best nine tackles. Tywan Hollis recorded an interception and Michael Dinaso recovered a fumble.
Benedictine (4-0, 2-0 NACC) has scored over 200 points in four games with the lowest offensive total being 48. The team welcomes St. Norbert next Saturday at 2:00 pm.
