MADISON, N.J. – The Lebanon Valley College football team began the conference slate with a big 17-14 overtime win at FDU-Florham on Shields Field in Madison, N.J. behind a strong defensive performance including two fourth quarter interceptions.
The Dutchmen (1-2, 1-0 MAC) got on the board first in the opening quarter as Tim Ervey broke free for a 35-yard touchdown run. Nick Morder gave the offense great field position with his first of two interceptions on the day. The Devils (2-1, 0-1 MAC) responded with a 13-play 75-yard drive that ended with a one-yard touchdown run with 10:30 remaining in the second quarter to tie things up. The hosts took their first lead of the game with a three-yard touchdown run with 1:05 left in the half.
Neither team was able to score in the third quarter before Morder picked off his second pass of the game at the LVC nine-yard line with 7:14 to go in the fourth. The Dutchmen went 91 yards in 2:45 ending with a 51-yard bomb from Braden Bohannon to Malaki Blair tying the game up at 14 with 4:29 left. Ryan Enright sent the game to overtime with his first career interception in the final minute of regulation. The Devils got the ball first in the overtime period and missed a 37-yard field goal attempt. The Dutchmen used three plays to set up kicker Devin Crone for the potential game-winning field goal. Crone stepped up and drilled a 36-yarder through the uprights giving the Dutchmen the victory.

- The Dutchmen defense intercepted at least one pass for the third consecutive game to begin the year. Morder had two picks leading to 14 LVC points and Enright's interception sent the game to overtime.
- The defense gave FDU-Florham's offense fits all game making eight tackles for a loss including three sacks.
- Bohannon threw for 131 yards on 23 completions with one touchdown. He was also the team's leading rusher with 99 yards on 18 carries.
- Ervey rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown on seven carries for 6.7 yards per attempt.
- Blair caught two passes for 61 yards and a touchdown as the team's leading receiver.
- Jacob Horton led the defense with nine tackles while Enright and Erik Williams had seven each. Enright and Cody Shay each had a solo sack and assisted sack.
- Jeremy Bours Jr. had another strong day punting the ball with a 31.6-yard average and a long of 63 on 11 punts.
- The Dutchmen recorded 13 first downs including seven on rushes. They totaled 307 yards of total offense including 171 on the ground while not turning the ball over.
