PRINCE ATHLETIC COMPLEX: Quarterback A.G. Wingfield passed for three touchdowns and ran for another as Ithaca College defeated the University of Rochester, 37-14, at Edwin Fauver Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Bombers improved to 5-0 overall, 2-0 in the Liberty League. Ithaca is ranked #17 by D3Football.com and #15 by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). Rochester is 1-4 overall, 0-2 in the Liberty League.

Wingfield completed 26 of 33 passes for 310 yards and three scores. He was intercepted once – by Rochester's Jack Yensel inside the Rochester one-yard line. He ran five times for 30 yards and one score.

He threw a five-yard TD to Mike Anderson on Ithaca's first possession. In Ithaca's second possession, he drove Ithaca from midfield down to the UR 20. His pass over the middle was intercepted by Rochester's Jack Yensel inside the one-yard line. Ithaca held Rochester to a three-and-out. Alex Wing's punt was partially blocked and the Bombers took over at the UR 25. On 4th-and-10, Wingfield threw to Julien Deumaga for a 14-0 lead.

Wingfield ran for a four-yard TD in the second quarter. Placekicker Nicholas Bahamonde was 4-4 on PATs and kicked three field goals – from 34 yards, 32 yards, and 32 yards. Bahamonde kicked a pair of field goals two minutes apart late in the second quarter. Ithaca led, 27-7 at halftime.

Rochester scored on a two-yard run by quarterback Sean Casey (13:35 left in the first half) and a 41-yard run by Will Varney with 4:24 left in the game.

Ithaca totaled 577 yards in offense, 240 on the ground, 337 in the air. Rochester rushed for 136 yards and passed for 95 more – 231 overall. Hines led the Ithaca ground attack with 54 yards on 13 carries. Conner Hayes had 53 yards on seven tries. Varney led Rochester with 59 yards, 41 on the scoring play. Casey rushed for 47 yards and Daniel Papantonis had 33.

Rochester recovered two fumbles by Ithaca – one early in the second quarter (in the end zone) and the other at the UR 16 in the third period. Yensel and Joey Moore each had fumble recoveries. Caden Cole had 12 tackles for Rochester and a forced fumble. Simon Weeren had 10 tackles.

For Ithaca, Michael Roumes had seven stops and Miles Haynes had six. Akap Takor intercepted a Casey pass in the second half. Jason Haber had the blocked punt. Anthony Robinson broke up two passes.
