BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University Eagles (4-1, 1-0) defeated Curry College (2-3, 1-1), 21-14, on Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Football (CCC Football) action at the Dr. John W. Winkin Sports Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

After both teams started the game with three-and-outs, the Eagles flew down the field with a 10 play drive that resulted in the game's first points when Nic Visser found a wide open Tyler Halls in the Colonels' endzone with seven minutes left in the first quarter.

Husson extended their lead just five minutes into the second quarter with another touchdown pass completed from Visser to Halls. The 46-yard pass ended a 10 play, 80-yard drive putting Husson up 14-0.

The Curry defense forced the Eagles to punt from their own 14-yard line, the Colonels then marched down the field for a score from the Husson 34-yard line when Devon Hughes snagged a 21-yard touchdown catch from Justin Mullaney to send the game into break with Husson leading by seven.

Husson furthers their lead midway through the third quarter quickly moving the ball down the field, scoring after a three-play, 80-yard drive as Visser found Jon Bell, who scampered down the sidelines 49  yards for a touchdown to put the Eagles ahead 21-7.

The Husson defense came up big during Curry's first drive of the fourth quarter, when Alex Brown stripped the ball from Angel Martinez at the Eagle one-yard line. The ball then rolled out of bounds in the endzone for a touchback, giving the ball back to the Husson offensive with 10:03 remaining in the game.

After the Colonel's forced the Eagles to turn the ball over on downs from their own ten yard line, Curry raced down the gridiron on 8-play, 90-yard drive that resulted in a 27-yard touchdown pass from Mullaney to Tahg Coakley with 1:20 remaining in the game.

Billy Lynch then delivered an onside kick that was recovered by Aidan Hogan and the Eagles run out the clock for the 21-14 victory.
