Carnegie Mellon 2017 graduate Brian Khoury has been signed by the Baltimore Ravens of the NFL. Khoury becomes the first Tartan under the direction of 35-year head coach Rich Lackner to be signed by a NFL team. Khoury signed an undisclosed contract with the Ravens on Wednesday as a long snapper.

"The Tartan football program is incredibly proud of Brian Khoury! Brian's work ethic, as a student-athlete at Carnegie Mellon, was outstanding both in the classroom and on the football field," said Lakner. "His determination, commitment, and dedication to develop his snapping skill set has paid off with an NFL opportunity and we all wish Brian much success!"

In October of 2019, Khoury was selected as a defensive end/long snapper in the second round of the open phase of the XFL Draft by the DC Defenders. He played in all five games as the long snapper for the Defenders in 2020 before the league's operations came to a close due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We are so proud of Brian. He has been as determined as anyone can possibly be to achieve his dreams," said athletic director Josh Centor. "Most important, Brian is a terrific young man and was the consummate leader during his days as a Tartan. I am looking forward to watching him follow his passion on the biggest stage."

Khoury finished his senior season at Carnegie Mellon as an All-South Region third team selection by D3football.com, a first team All-Presidents' Athletic Conference selection, University Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Year and Eastern College Athletic Conference South First Team member. He led the PAC and UAA while ranking fifth nationally with 12.5 sacks. Khoury became the school's all-time sack leader during his senior season and finished his career with 29.5 sacks. He totaled 16.0 tackles for a loss of 90 yards and ended the season with 55 total tackles, 31 solo, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
