Kalamazoo Loses Finale at Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College football team lost its season finale 29-3 at Trine University Saturday afternoon.

Trine scored a touchdown on its opening drive and led 10-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Kalamazoo made it 10-3 with a 37-yard field goal by Greg Kearns with 4:28 left in the first half. Trine returned an interception for a touchdown with 33 seconds left in the half to take a 17-3 lead into halftime.

Trine scored in each of the third and fourth quarters leading to the 29-3 final.

Trine accumulated 325 yards of total offense compared to 209 for Kalamazoo.

Jared Pittman led the Hornets with 99 yards rushing on 17 carries. He also had 44 yards receiving on four catches.

Bubba Wilson also had four catches for 36 yards.

Brad Ekonen was 8-of-19 for 84 yards. Cam Crothers was 5-of-10 for 46 yards.

Alex Stockwell led the Hornet defense with 11 total tackles. Taylor Jackson and Josh Martin each had eight. Noah Coplan recorded a sack with five tackles.
