Shooting for an Outright Title: Brockport needs a win over Morrisville to secure its third consecutive undefeated season in conference play. A win would make Brockport the first team in the history of the Empire 8 to go undefeated in conference play in three consecutive seasons.  Ithaca College won four straight titles from 2002-2005, however the Bombers shared the title in 2004 with St. John Fisher, as both teams lost one conference contest during the 2004 regular season.

NCAA Selection Show: Brockport has secured the Empire 8's automatic bid into the NCAA Championships and the selection and notification of championship qualifying teams takes place on Sunday, November 17th at 5:30 p.m. The online selection show can be viewed at NCAA.com.   The first round of the NCAA Championships will take place on Saturday, Nov. 23rd.  Location and time of the NCAA First Round games will be released during the selection show on Sunday night.

Three-Peat: The Golden Eagles have earned the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Championship courtesy of a 16-7 victory over visiting Alfred University on Saturday afternoon at Bob Boozer Field. Brockport's conference clinching win over Alfred came courtesy of another gutsy effort by the defense, two scores from running back Jala Coad, and an incredible 11:28 fourth quarter possession that took 21 plays and spanned 84 yards.  The clock eating drive resulted in an insurance field goal for the Golden Eagles (24 yards) from the foot of senior Dustin Moyle to put the home team on top 16-7.  Brockport's defense forced a turnover on downs on the next possession to lock up the victory and the Empire 8 crystal.

How We Got Here: Brockport (8-1, 5-0 Empire 8) has now rattled off eight straight victories following its week one loss on the road at Hobart. Over the course of the eight victories, the Golden Eagles have posted three shut outs and allowed just 75 total points.  Brockport has outscored its opponents 268-75 over the course of the last eight games and the Golden Eagles are averaging 33.5 points per game during the win streak.

Undefeated Effort: Brockport now stands alone as the only undefeated team in the Empire 8 Conference with a 5-0 record following last weekend's win over Alfred. Brockport was now won 21 straight Empire 8 Conference contests dating back to Oct. 29, 2016. Over the course of the last four seasons the Golden Eagles are 25-2 in conference games, including an unblemished 7-0 record in each of the previous two seasons.

Regional Rankings: The Golden Eagles moved up two spots and are now ranked No. 5 in the latest NCAA Division III Football East Regional Rankings. The NCAA Division III football national committee will use the regional rankings to select at-large teams and pairings for the NCAA Division III Football Championships. Salisbury, Wesleyan, Delaware Valley and Union are the top four teams ahead of Brockport in the current regional rankings.

National Polls: Brockport moved back into the top 25 of the latest D3football.com National poll following Saturday's conference title clinching victory over visiting Alfred University.  The Golden Eagles moved out of the receiving votes category and up four spots to No. 22. Brockport held strong at No. 25 in the latest edition of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) National Poll. The Golden Eagles rose to as high as No. 3 in the national polls headed into the second round of the NCAA Division III Championships last season. Brockport has been a fixture in the top 25 each week dating back to week 1 of 2017. The top 25 is voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, Sports Information Directors and media members from across the country, and is published weekly.

Series History: This will be the 13th all-time meeting between these two
programs, with Brockport holding a 10-2 edge in the series. The Golden Eagles have won the last seven meetings dating back to 2011, including last season when they finished off an undefeated regular season at home with a 49-7 win over the Mustangs.

Empire 8 Player of the Week: Senior All-American candidate Alex West was named the Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Week following his impressive nine tackle/one sack performance against Alfred on Saturday.  West currently leads the Empire 8 with 8.5 sacks this season. His average of .94 sacks per game ranks 23rd nationally.  West now has 25 career sacks and needs just one more to tie the program's career record of 26 set back in 2002 by Mike Condello. West currently has 182 career tackles and needs 18 more to reach 200 for his career. The program's career record for tackles is 399, originally set by Steve Cook back in 1991. He posted two short yardage scores last weekend and now has 14 rushing touchdowns on the year to go along with one receiving TD. Mangone has an impressive 57-20 overall record over the course of six-plus seasons at the helm. A win on Saturday will make him the first coach in the history of the Empire 8 to win three consecutive outright Empire 8 titles. Mangone and his staff have earned two straight Empire 8 Coaching Staff of the Year honors after compiling a 24-2 overall record in that span.  In 2017 he was named the AFCA National Coach of the Year after guiding the Golden Eagles to the semifinals of the NCAA Div. He also scrambled for the game-winning touchdown in overtime two weeks back to help the Golden Eagles secure a thrilling come from behind victory over nationally-ranked Cortland.

Open Downfield: Senior wide receiver DaQuan Hubbard leads the league and ranks fifth nationally with an average of 23.94 yards per reception.  He has 18 catches this season and averages 61.57 yards receiving per game. He also has one touchdown.
