Geisel, Aikey Selected to All-CC Football Team

More news about: Gettysburg

LANCASTER, Pa.  – Junior placekicker Justin Geisel (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Country Day School) and senior defensive lineman Logan Aikey (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) have been named to the All-Centennial Conference Football Team it was announced on Tuesday, Nov. 13.

Geisel was named the conference's top placekicker by seizing a spot on the first team, becoming Gettysburg's first kicker on the top squad since Wayne Rumsey '98 in 1994. The junior, who was a second-team selection in 2017, also became the Bullets' first-two team all-league kicker since Josh Huson '09 in 2006-07. Geisel led the conference with 10 made field goals this season, three more than any other kicker in the conference. He went 10-of-14 overall this season and connected on all seven of his attempts between 31 and 42 yards. His only misses on the year came from 49 yards or longer, all of which would have broken the program record.

Geisel also hit all 11 of his extra point attempts and led the team in scoring with 42 points. A soccer player coming out of high school, the junior has hit 26-of-37 field goals in his career and already ranks third all-time in made field goals at Gettysburg.

Aikey grabbed his first postseason accolade as an honorable mention selection. He broke his own single-season school record with 18.5 tackles for a loss this fall and finished second overall in the CC. The senior also ranked third in the league with nine sacks and finished among the league leaders in tackles by a defensive lineman with 60.

A reserve in his first two years on the roster, Aikey blossomed into one of the most feared pass-rushers in the league in his final two campaigns. He started all 20 games and finished with 126 tackles, 36 tackles for a loss, and 17 sacks. Aikey finished second in TFLs and ninth in sacks in program history.

Additionally, senior Chase Fee (Spotswood, N.J./Spotswood) earned a spot on the CC All-Sportsmanship Team. Fee was an integral part of the offense and special teams in his final three seasons despite having the last two cut short due to injury. A team captain this fall, he finished with 321 all-purpose yards in seven games and he totaled over 1,000 all-purpose yards in his career.
