Recap: Morrisville State scored 24 unanswered points to start the game in a 44-20 victory over Hartwick's football team on Saturday at Drake Field. Despite the loss, the Hawks out-gained the Mustangs on the day. The Hawks would register 447 yards of offense and 27 first downs in the contest. Morrisville accumulated 443 yards as it won its fourth straight game. The hosts would score touchdowns on three straight possessions after punting on their first to gain a 21-0 advantage. The Hawks would drive inside the Morrisville 35 yard-line on four separate occasions in the first half but they turned the ball over on downs three times and were intercepted on their final possession before the break. The Mustangs added a field goal on their first drive of the third quarter before Hartwick would get on the scoreboard. Grant Harman (Liberty, NY/Liberty) drove the team 72 yards on eight plays and he connected with Princeton Gahagan (Elmont, NY/Elmont) for a 17-yard touchdown pass. The Hawks went for two but did not convert. Following a punt by the Mustangs, the Hawks had the ball back down 18 points but a turnover on the first play of the drive gave the ball back to Morrisville, who would cash in with a touchdown for a 31-6 lead. They added another early in the fourth quarter to extend the lead to 32 points. Hartwick got a touchdown back with under five minutes left as Harman found Corey Sachs (Wantagh, NY/Wantagh) for a 5-yard score. After getting the ball back, Harman connected with Dylan Mucci (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Iona Prep) for a 13-yard touchdown. Kevin Roberts (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central) kicked his second PAT and the gap was trimmed to 18 again, 38-20, with 1:10 to play. The Hawks didn't recover their ensuing onside kick and the Mustangs broke free for a 46-yard touchdown run on the next play to close out the scoring.

Final Totals: Harman threw for a career-high 384 yards on 27-of-53 passing. He had three touchdowns and two picks. Mucci caught a game-best nine balls for 149 yards and a score. Gahagan had four catches for 82 yards while Connor Darmetko (Menands, NY/Watervliet) had five receptions for 62 yards. Sachs recorded five grabs for 45 yards and another 42 on the ground. Rusty Virkler (Apalachin, NY/Vestal) made four catches for 46 yards. Charles Virella (Staten Island, NY/Port Richmond) led the Hawks in tackles with nine. Cameron Conrad (New City, NY/Clarkstown North) added eight hits. Ian Chavanne (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) and Dylan Williams-Bachman (Homer, NY/Homer) registered seven tackles apiece. Kyle Kessler (Latham, NY/Shaker) had an interception and 1.5 tackles for a loss.

Up Next: Hartwick wraps up its season at home against Utica College on Saturday, November 10. Kickoff is 1 p.m. from Wright Stadium.
